Hey everyone,
I placed an order for an F Type Coupe R on Friday but was told that Black Pack is currently unavailable from the factory. Some part is on backorder indefinitely. I actually was able to see the order entering interface at the dealer to see the error that was coming up, so it is not just the case of the dealer B.S.ing.

Has anyone else heard about this? It's kind of a deal breaker for me. My options appear to be: order it without the black pack and leave it as is, order it without the black pack and try to recreate the black pack look on all the parts once it arrives, or withdraw my order.

I really don't like the idea of trying to modify those parts after arrival.

 

Wow...never heard that but it is disappointing because that's one option I really want.

 

I have the black pack on an R coupe myself--why on earth would that be unavailable???

 

Some paint schemes don't allow it so our dealer just sends the parts out to be painted. Really can't tell the difference.

 

It wasn't allowed with Salsa Red when I ordered mine. Turned out a lot of the trim pieces were already black, so I didn't need it.

 

Update: All good. Received a call yesterday that the black pack is now available and my car will be arriving 8/1.

 

Good to hear, just took delivery of my Type R coupe in White with the black pack. It looks great, you'll be happy that you ordered the option.

 

How did your R Coupe come in so quickly? I ordered mine the first of February and am still told another 30-60 days.

 

Apparently the dealer I purchased from in NJ is the highest volume F-type dealer in the US (or so they claim). I also ordered at the beginning of Feb. They promised early allocation and delivered on their claim. The car is stunning, you'll love it!

 

I hear the "We are the highest volume XXXX dealer in XX" at pretty much every car dealership I've ever been to. Hard to say who is correct. At least they definitely delivered, congrats! Can't wait to see some arrive on the west coast.
