I have the same issue with evaporator leaking. Does anyone know how to remove dashboard to access the evaporator ?

There are many sections in the service manual PDF or you can use the web-searchable version on my.alldata.com. Basically it comes apart like most interiors, but you are talking about hundreds of clips/fasteners and pieces.

@AlexV8S
2018 F-Pace just for reference that I did a few weeks ago. It’s a BIG job that’s very tedious and doing this without scratching anything, getting all the brackets, clips installed properly, screws/bolts tightened down as to not have squeaks and/or rattles is very labor intensive. There is also quite a few things to do under the hood also. This took about 3 days.

What a job!! Thanks for the pictures!
I hope to never see my car this far apart because as you say I would be afraid I could not get it all back together. That's without mentioning any squeaks and rattles I would have caused doing this.

Okay, I get that sometimes you have to break some eggs to make an omelet, disassembling that much to do a/c work is ridiculous and is a poor reflection on how (an by whom) it was designed and engineered.

However they're saying there's still a small leak and the evaporator core needs to be replaced at a cost of an additional $6,500. This... I haven't been able to swallow.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I love the car but I'm not mentally prepared to drop close to 5 figures on a leaky A/C for an 8-year-old car with very low miles.
The evaporator at OEM Parts Online is $809.00, and $1,270.00 at Palm Beach Jaguar, $6,500.00 is a brutal rape by the dealer.

This is an XF, same process but different. It's a bit tedious and it does help to have an extra hand hanging around for the time when they are needed.
