It is interesting to note that the 2015 R out performs the Project 7 on the Lightening rather substantially. Jaguar F-type Project 7 at Lightning Lap 2016 ? Feature ? Car and Driver Apparently the rear wheel drive 7 isn't a great track car. How'd they screw that up?

For that money [Project 7] I'd get a Cayman GT4 or Z06.

What were they thinking? Unless of course it's just a PR car and not a track car.

Yep for the money it is hard to beat the Corvette. Unlike the Viper, which is also a deal, you can drive it on the street. (Well you can drove the Viper ACR on the street too but you won't enjoy it).

Well...the '15 R is RWD also. Must be some other explanation.

The in-car video of that lap in the Project 7 was downright scary. Not surprised they put AWD on all newer "R" models. AWD is a far more effective approach to put down that much power.

Project 7 is open top and that creates A LOT of drag at high speed. I know, because I like to lap with open top.

When I care about lap times on a fast circuit, I actually close top to improve aerodynamics.
