Default Car not seeming to sense key

I had to replace my garage door opener. I reset the Home link yesterday, no problem. I did not start or drive the car when resting the Home link. I went to Change my oil and air filters this morning and had to use the emergency key to open the door. I get the no key found, and put key here to start message. No low voltage start car message. Car starts with key placed as shown. Drives fine. Outside mirrors do not unfold. I tried the battery reset, but nothing changes. Car won't lock ether. Just get a beep when pushing in the handle. Any ideas? Thanks.

Might simply be the battery in the fob?

I go with the fob battery as well. If the fobs were within "ear shot" of the car for an extended period they both could be dead.

I've also found that if you have a phone or a key card in the same pocket as the fob, the car refuses to talk to the fob. In that case after I take the fob out of my pocket I open the and close the driver's door to start the the car's listening cycle again. Seems to work.

I will replace the battery as suggest. How do you get to the fob battery? I found nothing in the owners manual.

Take out the emergency key and you'll see a hole in the fob that will fit the tip of that key. Insert a few millimeters and twist. The halves of the fob will separate, exposing the CR2032 battery.

I had this exact problem a couple years ago. They had to replace the remote module.

Update, Well, try the simple things first, Right? The new Key FOB battery seems to have done the trick. Surprised me. I thought no way both key fob batteries are dead at the same time. My DD key is 11 years old with the original battery. So a big thank you to you guys.

I'm not surprised. I keep the battery out of my spare fob because with keyless entry, the fob is always on standby.

Ummm.. guessing this issue was on something other than a F-Type unless you have a very early prototype.

After 4 1/2 years - and one recent fob “failure” - batteries are being replaced...tomorrow!
