Unfortunately, he is sadly mistaken on the engine design and that is a very expensive bill for what is actually being done IMO.

Saw it as soon as I got the notification. Buyer was lucky that it was minor stuff to get it running correctly. I don't think that I will ever be able to buy a car sight unseen through an auction.

Yes, he did get the engine design wrong, but that is okay.

Hopefully he puts out another video when he tackles the job. I do not blame the new owner for wanting to do all that preventive maintenance. I am thinking of doing the same as well...

From auction to AGONY? Man, it’s tough to watch this joker. We all know it’s NOT a Ford Coyote. We know S does not mean supercharged. There may have been an oil leak from the valve cover gaskets. They didn’t show it. I’d have bet the farm on the brake boost vacuum pump. The existing coolant pipes were 2nd gen so they were already changed out. Mrs owned a Disco Sport? Yeah, you’re an idiot.

And in fairness to Jaguar, there aren't too many 12 year old vehicles of any brand that have been totally free of issues.

"Hopefully he puts out another video when he tackles the job." That likely will never happen. That's why I quit watching his video's. He only tells you what is wrong but never shows you how he fixes them. If you want to see someone actually fix things, watch " WatchJrGo" on youtube. He did a complete engine swap on an F-Type a couple of years ago.

Well, Dave's mind might have been a bit distracted as a result of the repeated noise from "No Muffler Newton".

Regular visitors to his channel will know what I'm talking about.

The thing that made me roll my eyes are the people (who are uninformed and certainly have never owned a Jag) commenting about how bad, unreliable, etc. Jags are. The issues on that F-Type were certainly easy to fix and not expensive.
I take everything the "Wizard" says/does with a grain of salt.

Didn't even watch it because I don't want to support that kind of nonsense but he's made some amusing vids in the past.

In a weird way I kind of like all the usual clueless comments on online Jag content. There's so much fear of Jag ownership out there due to ignorance and reliability myths that it helps keeping the Jag experience exclusive to us who know the cars.

I agree and anyone who takes their Jaguar to a main Jaguar franchise dealership or any franchise dealer for servicing or repairs has more money than sense, i appreciate that full service history is an important factor in buying or selling a car but taking your car to a reputable specialist garage is quite sufficient..

Can't really (0ther than some side comments) fault going for the hose replacements (did that on m both my XJs and my recent XF...good investment in longevity); I'd push for dropping the pan on the tranny (even with only 50K some miles...time counts too) and refreshing the filter and oil...yeah, yeah, filled for life, yadda yadda....

Wrong cover? OK...not important.
