Default The case for wheel locks

I have had chrome wheels on my previous three cars. I purchased wheel locks for each set as I felt the chrome might attract the wrong kind of attention. The Tornados on my F are painted silver and coated. Not chrome. Not after-market. Trying to decide if I should get another set of wheel locks. Any opinions? Is this much of a problem anymore in American suburbia?

Thieves will steal anything not locked down. Why be the only car without locks with $5000 worth of wheels, tires and sensors. They are also not very gentle with the car when they steal them. Need I say more?

There is a SnapOn tool to remove wheel locks.. Good wheel thieves have them. Wheel locks are a waste of time and money. I had the dealer remove them just prior to delivery

This specific model of lock are more difficult to beat. The outer ring spins. I would like to see the snap-on tool that can remove these. I had those and another completely different set (double locks) on my last car. Removing 8 different locks, regardless of what tools you have on hand, would be annoying IMO. I have insurance, but coming back to a car up on blocks is very inconvenient. It's well worth the $20 investment IMO. Sadly this version of the lock seems to be not available for our lug nut type. The other lock types are unfortunately pretty easy to beat with tools.

Noting they came with the car, your generosity towards non-professional wheel thieves is a thing of wonder.

I am in the US, while the car is always parked safely, we still carry guns here ;-)

If the wheel locks that offer true security (Gorilla) are not made for our cars, and all the others are easily defeated, what's the purpose? To keep honest people, honest? I bought a set of wheel locks yesterday at AutoZone and I'm trying to figure out if they are worth installing. Is there a next best choice to the Gorillas or are all the others pretty much on a level playing field?

Run a chain between the spokes of all 4 wheels. At least you don't need to deal with lug nuts ;-)

Not only that.... It's to increase the chance they maybe move on and just find another car to mess with. If the amount of work to get my wheels equals the work for three other cars, they may move on.

Locks are never a guarantee, and most can be defeated, but that's not the point really.

For just $20, I might increase the chance of not coming back to a car up on blocks. Worth it, to me. A car with no wheels is very inconvenient when you want to get home.

I hope gorilla guard version becomes available for us. I've always been told "we need the key" when I have those on. You never seem to get asked for the key with other locks.

Your F-Type can operate a gun all by itself?

Don't try to figure it out. You're just supposed to say "murrika" and that somehow is the justification/explanation for everything.

The car is usually in my driveway, in my garage, in my company's reserved spaces near my window or in a parking space that I can keep an eye on it... If I go in places that I must park and be "gone" I don't take the F-Type but rather a pedestrian GMC or similar
