Constant window damage
I leased a P300 back in March 2020. Within the first month I noticed a deep scratch on the passenger window .. along side a screeching noise whenever you lift & lower the window.
I had about three warranty issues within the first month, so I brought her into service at Monmouth NJ.
Dealer stated that upon taking the door panel & liner out, that they found a **** load of sand + rocks .. I live across from the beach, so that makes sense.
Fast forward to yesterday / today .. a hurricane hit NYC. Awesome. Now the drivers side window has a scratch about six inches long.
I know warranty will cover two new windows, but how often does Jaguar run into these issues?
I dont mind leaving it as is, but with a 39 month lease, dealing with this may turn frustrating.
Ive had a number of coupes , ranging from a Porsche Cayman to the Mercedes C350. I've never had a vehicle catch sand, dirt, or rocks in the door panel / liner.
Any suggestions or similar issues ?

There was a service bulletin about the window belt moulding for my model year (2016) but I thought it was reasonably resolved.
The windows slope inwards as they go up, so debris collects at the bottom. When the window is rolled down, and it does a little every time the door opens, that debris might be dust, but might also be more abrasive. Once trapped, it scratches the glass. Sand is particularly (pun intended) bad, in that it is as hard as the glass, so can readily scratch it.
I have the updated mouldings, but I suspect you do too. I make a point of cleaning that area when I wash the car. Even with the newer versions, I get a lot of crud there.

I reside in Coney Island Brooklyn .. & have been parking my cars & bikes in a private building lot on Surf Ave for nearly ten + years now.
Appreciate the responses.. all makes sense now.. (that crud gets caught in the window slope.) Glad Jaguars acknowledged it and have made attempts to rectify the issue.
My windows are tinted.. for me to run from Jaguar service to a tint shop every time they swap a window over some scratches isn't logical.
As much as I hate the visible scratches, I'll leave it as is and attempt to clean out the liner after washes & rain as much as possible.
It can be miserable parking / living across from the beach. Every dark car Ive had instantly showed sand on the body after a wash 🧼
Getting sand caught in the window liner & setting off my OCD by scratching the windows is a much worse feeling than seeing your car covered in sand after a wash 😖😂
Thank you fellas !
