Default Convertible top canvas repair method?

so my canvas top got cut by vandalism and I’m wondering if there’s a good way to stitch this back together again and what tools I’d need. Most places want to replace the entire top and don’t do repairs. Anyone done repairs like this before that can give some advice? Also I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area in case anyone knows a good shop that can do this

I vote for replacement. A stiched top would never look the same...

Wouldn't your Comprehensive insurance cover the cost?

@s3yang This is heartbreaking - did it happen in downtown SF?

I am curious if your insurance will sanction a new replacement top - likely a $20K job with parts and labor if you go the dealer route.

If you look on EB now there are many used ones for sale in decent condition for <$1000. A convertible top repair specialist could probably do the work much cheaper.

A quick web search revealed a few specialists in the Bay Area. Can you keep us updated?

Check robbins auto top for a replacement. Then hopefully find an upholstery shop. Still between $3k-$4k all in.
