So today the first issue with the Jaguar, during a trip and when almost home, the warning light from low coolant went on.
Stopped the car and opened the hood to try to find what happened and everything splashed with pink coolant and a hose broken (the only one i could find):
Filled the expansion tank with engine running to check if was the leaking point but nothing come out from there.
Anyone knows what could possible make this hose to crack completely and if is this the reason of the leak? Is this common? Couldn't find any detail or diagram about it.
I have looked in my engine bay and through the Workshop Manual and I can't tell what system that hose/pipe is part of.
It doesn't appear to be a coolant hose as it is not shown at all on the (comprehensive) coolant component diagram in the Workshop Manual.
I have just come in from a run in the car and while the coolant system hoses and pipes are hot or at least warm that particular hose is barely warm at all.
Bottom line - I don't know what that hose is for but I'm fairly sure it is not a coolant hose and my best guess is that it is a vacuum hose of some sort.
But if it is not a coolant hose where did all the coolant leak from?
The plot thickens!

Thanks that you checked, is indeed weird, tried to identify the hose by the parts diagram and no success, doesn't look like a coolant line. Can't find any leaks on the floor or any other leaking hose.
I am already expecting the worst, Jaguar might only have time to check the car next week so i am here dying of anxiety and no clue.
I have had luck taking a picture of the general area and then the close up you have and call local dealers parts department and while on the phone email them the pics. Did that once with my XK and parts guy found the part.
So, you had a broken fuel line and a broken coolant line?
A strange coincidence.
Hard to see a connection (excuse pun) between these.
Hopefully you do not have a major issue.
Looking forward to more info.

Exactly, something fishy, doesn't make any sense, asked them to check! Let's hope is just due engine vibration, i always drive a bit too fast.
CJSJAG,
The part in question is the purge valve P/N AJ814246 and retails for about 160.00. The other line that is undamaged wraps around the insulation/rubber piece is a low-pressure fuel line. Due to the pressure of coolant when blowing out of a hot engine makes it very difficult to tell by the pictures. I would imagine its probably the crossover in the back of the engine, upper radiator hose, or something around the thermostat area.

Reason: spelling
Thanks Oz.
I was blinded by the light of the photos and totally missed the model!!
So I guess this was just another failure from age / mileage?
According Jaguar was engine vibrations, the damage was by friction since everything is rubbing in something, i asked about the engine mounts but they are good.
The R have now about 85 kkm or 53k miles and really well maintained, but nowadays i almost don't drive it which perhaps isn't so good for rubbers (?). This was the first issue and let's hope it stop here
Thanks Oz.

I was about to say that it was good of you to admit that you missed his details due to your advanced age and failing eyesight but then I guessed you were possibly talking about the car!
Reason: Engine vibrations. So i should drive a bit more gentle to see if it lasts....
So does that mean the engine mounts were worn and out of spec, permitting too much movement/vibration? Won't this happen again unless they are replaced too?
