Default Coupe-Rear Hatch inside Cover

Hey Folks

No matter how much I center the inside trunk cover on the holding pins. (see picture) It ends up working its way off. I'm constantly resetting it back on the pins. It looks like the bracket on the cover (circled in red) can be adjusted? Anyone have this same issue? What was your fix?

This happens to me everyday. I'm planning to pick up a couple of rubber grommets and putting them on each side to act as a spacer and hopefully keep the cover centered.

Try wrapping the pins with electrical insulation tape, so that the brackets fit tight as.
I did this to stop the brackets rattling against the pins, as it was driving me nuts.
Pro tip - you need lots of tape, at least 10 or 12 winds around the pins, to get a tight fit.
Despite removing and refitting the cover many times I have never had a problem with the brackets moving or slipping off the pins.

I am starting to have this problem after 4 years. It looks like the right pin is slanted down a bit. The pin is attached to molding which looks like it has loosened up. I can't see how to tighten up the molding. Any suggestions?

I had this problem really bad as well. Really had to line it up carefully. Until last week when I went to put a jacket in the rear and the right bracket completely broke off the lid. It has 2 really small plastic welds. I think I am just going to install it back myself and widen it a bit. Thanks for the tape tip.

There's JTB00618 "parcel shelf loose or adrift" for this - involves fitting a couple of rubber grommets to the pins to make the shelf stay central. I had mine done two days ago.

Thanks for that info. I'll grab a couple rings out of my o-ring bin right now. Never had a problem with this issue, but the overhang on one side or the other has always looked a bit precarious to me.

Yeah, mine fell out and jammed so when I opened the tailgate one of the cords pulled out of the shelf. Turned out they can't be refitted, so I had to have a new shelf as well as the grommets.

Never had an issue with the cover so far, but did note misalignment and corrected it with a couple of rubber grommets too.
Side benefit - apparently the play on the cover did result in some noise as well, as since the installation of the grommets, the car is more silent.

The part number for the bushing is T2R35506. They are $17.90 each.

One of my pins was broken off. I put a black bolt through the hole, and a couple rubber sticky dots stopped the lid was rattling.

Great that there is a grommet fix fo this now. Instead a grommets, I ended up putting a zip tie around the end of each peg. It’s kept the cover from slipping off the pegs ever since😊
