Default creaky

Hi everyone,
I have had a very annoying creaking sound when going around turns at higher speed and now have figured out that it has to do with the covering of the cargo area in the back. When I remove the cover the noise disappears completely. The first cover I had seemed too small as it became separated from the end posts so I got it replaced thinking this would solve the problem. However, it's still there with the new cover as well.
Has anyone had this same issue and a potential fix? (Besides just leaving the cover off :-))
Thanks so much!
Nick

They have a repair kit that has rubber rings that go on the posts that center the cover on the posts. I don’t understand why they make it so it is almost falling off all the time. Anyway ask your dealer. It should be under warrantee. It’s a known issue.

Thanks so much! Is this something I can order from the dealer?

Should be covered by "JTB00618 - parcel shelf loose or adrift", the bush grommet is part T2R35506. Should be a warranty fix, if you have one.

If the JTB grommet fix doesn't work just do what I did - remove the cover and wrap black electrical tape around each mounting peg, 10 or 12 turns should do it to get a nice tight fit. You will have to use some force to push the slots over the pegs after wrapping them (do it from each side while firmly holding the part where the peg is mounted), but they should push all the way in and fit so tight that they don't move at all (other than rotating) and give off zero rattles or creaks.
I did this over two years ago and nary a squeak, rattle or creak ever since and still with the original wrapping.

If the pegs are resting properly on the peg holders, the creaking can easily be resolved by the application of a light coating of WD-40 on the pegs.

I think mine squeaks from the cover resting on the plastic toward the rear of the car - I think the cords are too long. If I put rubber bumpers on the horizontal plastic trim, the cover doesn't squeak. When the rubber bumper falls off it starts squeaking again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a creaking/squeaking on bumps that turned out to be coming from the cargo cover pegs. I applied a light coat of oil I had on hand, which resolved the problem. After some... spirited driving, the creak came back. Reapplication of the oil has fixed it again, but I've ordered some silicone grease which I'm hoping will be a more permanent fix.

Also, it really is amazing how addressing something so objectively minor completely changes my level happiness with the car. The coupe just *feels* more sturdy and capable now, which of course is an illusion

Sounds like a better choice.
