Exclamation Dash Camera with heated windshield?

Looking to install a dash camera in my 2017 F Type S. My biggest regret however is getting the heated wind shield as an extra. (I was so concerned with having all the available switch locations on the dash do something that I never looked at a car with the option installed). The heating elements are noticeably distracting especially at night with headlights from opposing drivers creating almost a diffused rainbow and distorted view.... (cue flash back from the sixties music).
My concern is the dash cam picture quality will also be compromised with these heater elements. So a couple questions
1) Anyone experienced this problem?
2) Anyone install a rear mounted camera in a convertible?
3) If so what make dash cam did you use?

PS don't ever get the heated front windshield.

The heating elements initially bothered me a bit when I first got the car. Now I never notice them.

I have a heated windshield on my Range Rover Sport. I do not have a problem with the dash cam and I do not notice the heating elements unless I look at them.

The heater elements probably do hurt resolution of fine details but the overall picture quality doesn't suffer much. You'll have far more trouble battling glare and reflections from the dash anyway.

I have a Thinkware F800 camera in my XJ with the heated windscreen and it does not affect the quality of the recordings. That camera design has the lens very close to the glass though to avoid glare - if you choose one that has a large gap between lens and windscreen then you might see the wires in direct sunlight/headlamps.

The Thinkware F800 is a decent camera for the money, and it comes in a Pro kit with a rear camera. There is no built in screen so it is compact (like a big pack of cards), and you can mount the smaller rear camera in the front if you want as they are the same specification. If you fit a dedicated battery like a Cellink, and a 128GB SD card (Pro only) you can have about 2 days of continuous car park recording, or even greater if you use the time-lapse recording, should they be of use to you.

i have a blackvue front camera , i was told there is no way to mount a rear camera in a convertible.

If you get one for the rear, please post the brand and model number. Thanks and good luck.
