Picked up an awesome 16 F Type R in Green over tan. 32K miles today. Ended up buying the tire and rim protection.
Awesome fun car.
Made it 50 miles and have a flat. Not sure if I can plug it and get home or not yet. Sitting in a diner having lunch first.
Going to pump it up, find leak, and hopefully plug it. There is a Walmart right around the corner and wife is with me in her car. If I can't plug it, I am luckily 1/2 mile from my sister's house.
Green over tan was my top choice, love that combination.
I selected the Silver over Cirrus since it was the color combination on the C-X16 concept car unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show that stole my heart. Two weeks after ordering my F-Type I was in the Castle Bromwich Jaguar factory watching them being built, a green-over-tan example was in the final prep area and I almost switched my order right then and there.
Have fun and as they say in England, "keep it between the hedges with the rubber-side down"
Until today I thought my BRG vert was the only car in that color, apart from a few other F-Types.
Today, a small non descript (Japanese?) car passed by (opposite side!!) and I swear it was BRG.
F##ck me, BRG should be reserved for Jaguars only!! No other car deserves that color.
Welcome to the camp (you all know why we're here). BRG over Tan is a proper combination - as opposed to JRG (Japanese Racing Green).
Sounds like you're familiar with using plugs. I keep a set in my trunk, along with a Li Jump Pack, and a permanent pigtails for a CTEK. I recommend any/all.
Check out the "How To" sticky for lots of information about the car and tips for care & maintenance - including the Shop Manual and wiring diagrams.
Also, for your reading pleasure, dig out the thread called "Any funny bystander reactions" It's been quiet for a while, but there are some great stories. A lot of people won't know what your car is - but they WILL notice.
Congrats on your F-Type. I have the same colour combination on my 2020, and usually get positive comments everywhere I drive it.
I have had AAA membership for about 30 yrs. Not too expensive, but a real life saver when I have had tire, battery, or other auto issues. Problems never arise at 'convenient' times.

I am guilty of this. I had a 280Z in BRG, looked like a little E Type

My AAA+ membership towed my F-Type 70 miles back to the dealership when the car failed to start or even turn-over.
I called AAA and requested the flatbed tow giving the dealer as the destination. Zero cost to me (other than AAA membership).
I called the dealer service and they wanted to know "do you have an appointment?" and "what's wrong with the car?" I said "you sort it out, I don't know what the problem is." They insisted on a reason for the unscheduled trip to the dealership. I dictated carefully: "please put down "FAILURE TO PROCEED"" on the Service order(*)
The $1,900 starter-motor used for the economy stop-start probably saved me $40 in gas over 30,000 miles but wore out prematurely for a very expensive repair. Stupid feature I have yet to disable by removing the 2nd battery on my 2015. I do switch off eco start-stop whenever I start while waiting for the car to come off fast idle.
(*) Rolls Royce dealer told me once "Rolls Royce motor cars never break down, they just fail to proceed."
Still plugged. Taking car to local shop for a top to bottom service this week, and they will either repair or replace, depending on tire and rim coverage and what is safe.
I can top your short distance story. Back in 1985, we bought two brand new Volvos for my elderly parents on the same day. The freeway on ramp was across the street from the dealership, and I didn't make the 50 feet or so to the on ramp. All the electronics on the car shut down completely, and a pronounced clunking from the rear end stopped me from driving it home. I should have taken this as a sign. At that time we had 3 Volvos in the family (my wife had one that we had purchased six months prior). Without question, these were the three worst automobiles me or my family have ever owned. Three different models, three pieces of junk, none of which we kept for more than a year, they were so bad. At least all you had was a flat tire!
My brother bought an alpha spider from a Long Island dealer in 1977. The dealer was nice enough to give us a full car. At least that’s what the fuel gauge said. On the way over the Throgs neck bridge, the car started to died. Somehow we figured out what the problem was and got a little bit of gas. We then took it to a gas station and filled it up. Low and behold the gas gauge swung right down to empty. That is Italian manufacturing. He did keep the car for many many years though and did add E type to his collection.
