Default door handle honks

Is it possible to disable or at least lower the volume of the honks that occur when one pushes on the door handles while the doors/hatch are open?

This was discussed recently - I believe the answer is no.

I would love to find out how, but I think this has been discussed and the general consensus is no (?)
Edit: Oops, sorry, for some reason didn't see that others had answered until after I posted...

Understandable, as we all posted at the same time.

Thanks for the speedy responses. I must have missed the previous discussion when I searched earlier. Oh well, I suppose I will just have to enjoy watching my daughter jump out of her socks every time she sets off the horn.

I haven't heard that in quite a while and am not going to go make it chirp at me now, but if it is a separate piezo beeper and not the horn itself the there's hope, depending on where the beeper is.

A previous car has a separate beeper for the alarm beeps (still used the horn if the alarm was triggered) and it could be disconnected or muted.

It's the horn.
