Default Drop Stop in an F-type -- Yup, I did it. Sacrilege....

After the gym, I store my earbuds in their charger inside the center console of my F-type. I've accidentally dropped one (or both) of them down the side of the driver's seat and have had to spend 15 min searching under the seat and trying to fish them out. Well, no more. I hesitated to buy the drop stop (as seen on shark tank) thinking it would be sacrilege to install it in a Jag. Well, I gotta say, it blends in pretty good (see pic) and it will now save my mental sanity.

Get it at Wal-Mart ... best purchase ever!!

Default A less expensive alternative

Here is a link to a big box store we have in the US Menards.com

They, as do other home improvement stores, sell this in 6 ft lengths, various Pipe IDs. You can easily cut it to fit.

I also use this around tie-downs, rope, bungees, etc to cushion it against a surface, for example, my wood kayak on its trailer.

Heck, I'm not too proud to get something that'll improve quality of life. Good find. Didn't know this existed.

How does that piece of foam stay in place if you move the seat?

We have 'MEMORY 3' set to move the seat up & back to facilitate entry & exit. Also, my wife's setting (#1, of course!) is very different from ours due to height.

LOL, there is a guy on youtube that pretty much tests every "as seen on TV" product out there and does follow ups a year later to see how it went with the products he liked. One of the very few he loved a year later was the drop stop. He even bought them for everyone elses car in his family.

If you get the Drop Stop, the material is very soft and stretchy so if you stick it in that gap firmly, you should be ok to move the seat -- but, if you move the seat up and down, you'll probably have to readjust it.

At first I thought “hell no” but after thinking about it, this would have saved me a few scars on my hand. Thanks for sharing.
