Default Drove an R today

Dropped in the dealer to check it out. Wow. Crazy cool sound and great feel. Dealer has only black on black right now. All colors coming in end of Nov. Have a Rhodium Silver w/Red interior on the drool list...

The sound is very cool, half the reason a lot of us bought it. I often feel like a tool/dbag driving around with the exhaust open. but then I say to myself, who cares, this is awesome

You just made an expensive mistake. As soon as I drove it I was hooked. Amazing cars. You'll love it if you get it.

I was sold on the looks and the sound.
I too feel douchy sometimes with the exhaust full on. When I leave my neighborhood I have the exhaust on quiet, once I hit the main roads its in active and S manual :-)

The main thing for me is on startup. My building's parking garage is enclosed like an echo chamber. During startup with the automatic rev it's obnoxiously loud for about 30 seconds. I pray my neighbors aren't around, thinking, how's this dbag revving his engine in the garage! So yea, buyer beware if you live in a quiet area

I live in the country so no problem locally (other than needing to go slow on gravel roads due to possible paint damage), however I do sometimes feel kind of 'centered out' when the exhaust is open on the R. Its the snap and pop that I believe can be a bit obnoxious, more so than the roar.
If it was possible, I'd program out the snap, crack and pop, or most of it, and just go for the rest of the sound stage.
Actually, I find the standard setting a bit too quiet.
By the way, the Silver looks great as I've seen one at a dealer.
Lawrence.

I agree, sound that matches up to performance is hard to beat. I would never get a Tesla (even though I find the car to be good looking) as there is nothing to match up to the performance... nothing.

My SOP when I get cars is usually wheels, suspension, and exhaust. I only needed to do suspension with the Jag....

Even the nuts 458 needed wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc and F car tax is immense to say the least.
