Default Eco Switch and Whistling

Hi All, I've appreciated reading all the questions and responses. Here are mine for you all. I am new to Jaguar (very excited) and just purchased a 2015 F-Type V8 S and have 2 immediate questions. 1) The engine shut off/start does not activate even with the "Eco" switch on and engaged. Hints on what may be going wrong? and 2) With the top down, there's a bit of an annoying whistling noise coming from the space between the driver's side mirror and the A pillar. If I put a finger or 2 in that space the whistling stops. Suggestions for a fix? It seems to whistle at 45 mph and up. Thank you in advance for all your expertise and any suggestions. Tom

I didn't know they made a V8 S in 2015. It might be a country thing.

I'm not sure why you would want the Eco switch to work; however, the secondary battery is probably dead. The first few years used a second battery just for the eco function. Me, personally, the first thing I did on my F-Type was to disable the eco button.

What's an eco button? I've got a button to enable/disable stop/start but there's nothing about the F-Type that's eco.

The original owner has disconnected to stop start already. Search the threads for how to disconnect if you want to undo it.

In my 2014 the second battery died and the stop /start function stopped working. I never replaced the second battery because the start/stop function had an unacceptable restart delay and was generally annoying.

The start stop system is somewhat failure prone. It most likely is the battery as posted above but on my 2014 XJR I replaced the small AUX battery and it worked for a short time. Them it stopped altogether which was fine by me! Recently I hooked up my SDD and found a Start/stop error code which points to an electrical problem that I will NOT be fixing!

Brutal one of our factory tech's has posted that there was a lot of electrical failures with that system.
