Default Engine cleaner

My car is coming up on its 10th anniversary (80,500 miles currently), and I’ve always put in BG44K cleaner a couple of tanks before changing the oil. I recall some discussion here about ‘better’ (or perhaps more modern?) engine cleaners. Seems like there were some expert opinions, in addition to the usual ‘I use extra virgin olive oil and have never had a problem’.

Do we have anything close to a consensus? I was just about to order a can of BG44K for each car. Thanks.

The other fuel system cleaner that gets mentioned on here along with BK44K is Redline SI-1.

I've tried the aforementioned brands and the Chevron cleaner. I can't tell the difference. If I could, I would guess there were bigger issues.

The BG44K is what my Jaguar dealer puts in at every service.

Default Direct Injection ...

There is a good thread here on top engine clean/deep cleaning these engines, due to having direct injection.

At 34.000 miles on the MY2017 V6, I had the dealer do the cleaning. I'm OK doing work on the 69 Etype, but just a bit too much on this F.

I use Red Line SI-1 as it was recommended by my local independent shop.

I use 44k once a year on everything and redline every other fill on the high output cars. Hard to tell if it’s working and how well, but even with the crazy 30% price increase on the additives, it’s relatively cheap and I have had no issues.

Have had no issues with BG44k q 3months or so with ethanol containing fuels. Engine checked out as super clean when it just happened to be opened up recently for coolant pipe work at 55k miles. No injector issues. Happy engine. Local gas station sells it - plan is to stay with it for now pending data that say otherwise is the way to go.

I use The Redline Sl-1 and happy with it.
It does strangely cause my Check Engine Light to come on for maybe 100 miles though!
