Default Exhaust pop for new 2 litre f type?

I have just bought a new 2 litre F Type and watched virtually every video review. I seem to be lacking any exhaust crackle/pop heard on those videos. I appreciate it's only the 4 cylinder. Any ideas hints or tips?

Driving it dynamic might help, if you arent already. But I have noticed that our XE with that engine (different exhaust) has quite a lot of grumbling on the overrun and when gears are changing, but you hear it from outside more than inside. Try driving in in manual mode and see if you get the crackle when you take your foot off the accelerator.

Lovely engine, by the way - hugely impressive.

I've heard that the sounds improve as you drive the car, so may also be a "running in" thing ....

I own one! Just got in from a 30 minute trip around the block. The DW refers to it as the long block.

It will get a little louder as you own it. Some break in.

Acceleration times 0-60 require the use of the launch control. Subtracts about a second.

If you want the most noise drive in Dynamic with the transmission in s. Takes a little practice. Throttle control.

Plenty of pops for an adult.

If you want to keep grinning on the long run, better is to run it in first before starting with launch control...

2019 P300 owner here and I can confirm the following

1. Follow the proper engine break in from user manual, I didn't switch to dynamic mode for the first 5000KM
2. Confirmed it gets louder after break in
3. Yes, P300 2L does pop, especially when you let go of gas
4. No you cant compare against the loudness of a V8, its a little Jar after all.

Cheers, TGX

Does the P300 have dynamic launch?

Very easy to get the pops on over run once broken in. I’ve had issues with the valves sticking closed on my MY19. Dealer is going to look at it next week when it’s in for it’s service.
