I have the heated WS and I've never paid any attention to the wires. Of course I've never used the "feature" either.

I had this on my XR3i back in the day in the UK when it was a Ford exclusive, and used it every day in the winter there, and absolutely loved it. JLR got it as they were part of Ford once, I understand. I loved the feature, so ordered it on the F-Type when I bought it new, but the car has only been out in the winter once, so not exactly a great ROI this time around . I did have a stone crack it and did opt to replace with another heated one, although my insurance covered it. That took three goes (and some time) to get the right windscreen, so watch that. I do wish my XJ had the feature as that's my winter warmer, but I bought that used, and it was not specced by the PO. I barely notice the wires.

My wife has it on her RRS and I wish my F-Type had it. The lines in the glass don't bother me 99% of the time and for the performance of that option, I don't mind.

I have owned my F-Type with heated windshield for more than 2 years, drive it daily, and have never noticed the lines. It took this post to remind me they existed!

Our old '17 F Pace had it and it bothered me immensely at first. Then one day I stopped noticing it.

Mine has it and I would have preferred not, for the reasons above (replacement cost, inability to patch small chips due to the filaments, some lighting glare at night). But it wasn't my choice, that's how the car came, and I wasn't going to walk away from a beautiful F-type because of the glass.

Also, some people are mentioning they had Mazdas with heated windshields. That's inaccurate. Mazda and other makes use heated wiper deicers that heat only a small section of the glass where the wipers sit. They are not heating the entire glass like in a Jaguar or Land Rover. Big difference.

I have it on my 16 that I just bought and notice the lines already-just got the car and drove only 15 miles so far. I live in AZ so it is pointless for me to have it but as other said it was on the car and the car checked the other boxes so I will be fine with it.

I have the cold pack which includes the heated front windscreen on my E-Pace. It is noticeable and if you are looking for it while driving, sure it is there. For the most part it just looks like tinted windows. It is by no means a distraction or makes things hard to drive.

The only downside that I see in it is the replacement cost. They are a bit more pricey. If you get a crack, then you have to do something. Of course, you could replace it with a standard window at that point, so the downside is just minor.

I have the heated windscreen as well. No problems at all with seeing the wires or it interfering with my view in any way. As for the windshield replacement, I carry windshield replacement coverage on my SVR. It's a very nominal price to pay if/when the windshield gets cracked - with no deductibles. It's even cheaper as I only drive/cover the SVR for 6 months when I actually drive the car....

In 5 years I’ve neither used the heated windshield feature nor noticed the wires after the first couple of days of driving the car.
Ordered the cold weather package for the heated seats and steering wheel. Would not have ordered the windshield heater if it was separately available.
