Short term these take a beating in my opinion. We got fortunate with the last couple years of out of whack values, but now that the prices are coming back to reality the Jag is taking the loss I expected. It is a fairly large beating compared to other cars I was in the market for; Porsche 991, Lotus Elise, and the Alfa Romeo 4C and some others. Love the car but never expected this would be a collector. It should be in my opinion but highly doubt it.

Street cars are a poor investment. Luxury cars especially so. Nothing depreciates like luxury. Mine lost 50% of its value in the first two years, but crept back up after that. Do I care? Nope. "Investment" implies that at some point it will be sold. I had it built to order and have no plans to sell.

If you're looking at a car as an investment, you'll surely not be using it as intended and missing out on that aspect too.

Buy it, drive it, enjoy it.

I bought mine used because it had depreciated 55%...it has gained probably 5%...I am fine with it being what it is.
Cars are not investments you can predict. I remember a guy with a muscle car who was telling me the square cut tranny in it was so valuable, yadda yadda, 130k, yada yada. He cannot sell it now for what he paid for it.

And, it makes me laugh every time I get in. Mostly because the sunvisors are just so huge.

I wish my F-Type had bigger sun visors that could be rotated to the side.
The low sun on the side is a PIA.
I think it is unlikely that F-Types will be collectibles.
I think only the dealers make money off of used cars!!
Not to say you can't get lucky, but certainly not an investable idea.

I also found that low sun on the side was a right royal PITA. A couple of years ago there was some discussion of dark tinted pieces of shaped plastic you could buy (Fleabay? Amazon? AliExpress?) which you could slide up into the top of the window (when it is up of course!) to act as a side sun visor. Despite some derision I bought one and it has been great, it really works, it's easy to slide into place and it stays put. I can't find a link to it or the post(s) / thread in which it was talked about, but it does exist and I highly recommend it.

I expect my F Type, purchased used at 60% of cost when new, to hold it's value well long term. I bought it to replace a 1988 BMW E30 Cabrio with an MT. I bought the E30 in 1998 $10,500, put 100k miles on it, kept it in good shape, and sold in in 2022 $11,500. The return on my investment was 24 years of fun in the sun, plus $1,000.

The BMW is a highly desirable car that is now increasing rare, and so will a 6MT F Type S be in 20 years. It isn't ever going to be a $100,000 car again, but who cares. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
