Default F Type question

Has anyone been to LA show and seen the real thing? My question is: what's the round thingy just aft of the trunk on right hand side?
Just curious...............waiting to see a Coupe with a half decent sized trunk!
I'm a Coupe person starting in 1960 with a maroon XK 140 MC 2+2 Coupe; which is still much alive in Seattle!
Glad to see Jaguar put a real gearshift in the F Type!
Nice car but rear view not anywhere as good as my 2007 Coupe or '68 E-Type.

Cheers, Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I was just at the LA show, the trunk looked just fine to me. Remember its not a "hard top" convertible Jaguar did this to save weight. Contrast this to something like a Lexus GS37 convertible coupe where the entire the trunk is gone when the top is down as every bit of space is used to store the top.

But then after the show I did some more research and the "base" care doesn't have a spare it has a tire repair/inflation kit.

If you want a spare refer to this page "http://jaguarusa.com/models/f-type/accessories" where it says:

ALLOY SPACE SAVER SPARE WHEEL
F-TYPE models come standard with an emergency tire inflation kit. A compact temporary spare tire is available as an option and mounts in the trunk of the F-TYPE.
IMHO I assume that it "mounts" in the trunk (not in some well under the trunk matt) and then takes up most of your trunk space like a piece of luggage. Sorry I don't have any more details on this and it is just a guess - I myself was sort of surprised to find out last night from the web page that there was only an "emergency tire inflation kit" by default on the F-Type. Note, Jaguar might have the posistion that this also saves weight.

Cheers.
