Ah, but see on the lower pic, those lengths of pipes coming off at 90 degree angles, they look like some sort of drone cancelling (Hemholtz resonator) system. And on the VAP system, we can't see the cutaway, but there may be similar piping. Also, at least on my car model, even in loud mode, the valve does not fully open until a certain RPM.
My 2 cents, get one of these systems, so you know you are getting the good sounds and less of the bad. Engine drone is annoying as heck. I bet 9 out of 10 forum members would find the VAP system plenty loud enough in loud mode - at WOT it screams. The 10th probably wears nomex suits to work.

Not really straight through. Notice the perforations in the "straight through" pipe allowing pressure into the main body of the muffler. This has the effect of absorbing a significant amount of sound energy.

Yep, the whole design looks very complicated and must have taken thousands of hours of R&D. Odds on the same amount of complication and R&D for the V8 exhaust. Sometimes KISS is not the best way to go!

I did a muffler delete for a day, it was horrible. Worst idea ever. Sounded loud as f@#$. I am now running the 200-cell downpipes from VAP and the VAP Valvetronic exhaust and it's still freaking loud when the values are open (basically a straight pipe), but beautifully loud. I will get around to recording a clip of it soon, but its exotically loud, I can't imagine wanting louder.
Here is a clip I put together last year, but I think it would be better to do a clip of my car next to a stock F-Type R to really show the difference. Now need to find a stock F-Type R who wants to rev with me.

Technically it's a small mini muffler, not the whole main body of the muffler. With that said, it's probably packed with glass wool.

A V6 without a central resonator nearly always drones like crazy, much worse than most V8s.
JLR would have tried the V6 and V8 exhausts in various configurations during R&D and probably found that the V6 needed a central resonator to reduce drone but the V8 didn't.
Also, a crossover pipe (or X pipe or H pipe) works on a V8 to improve exhaust gas flow due to the scavenging effect, but it doesn't work on a V6.
One reason why for some years now all high performance versions of the Jag 5.0 V8 have had a crossover pipe in the exhaust from the factory, eg XFR-S, XKR-S and F-Type R.
The V8 has a crossover pipe instead of a muffler/resonator.
A V6 without a central resonator nearly always drones like crazy, much worse than most V8s.

The firing order of the V6 is even, fires on opposite banks, left, right, left, right, left, right, repeat.
The V8 firing order is uneven, left, right, left, left, right, left, right, right, repeat. The x-pipe helps to balance out the uneven exhaust pulses from each bank.

I may try out the factory R X-Pipe on my V6. The R rear exhaust sounds perfect right now with no drone but I have the itch to try out the R X-Pipe. Who in CA wants to let me try out their factory X that they have laying around?

I'm interested as well.
But from what I have read and based on advice from Cambo, putting an X-pipe on a V6 may change the sound but probably not improve it, and it's likely to have a negative effect on power, torque and performance. I hope to be proven wrong!

The stock R exhaust is just about perfect for me, but yes, I agree with cutouts being always the best choice. Love them, always have. A buddy of mine has a Challenger 6.4, non-HC, w/ cutouts and damn. So brutal. Will love loud until the day I die. Reason why a Telsa would never interest me nor would a V6 Raptor truck. Fart can.

yes I did it and it sounded like garbage. Today I'm running stock setup with a velocity AP valvetronic and tune. Sounds delicious. I used to run the high-flow 200 cells downpipes until the cats gave out. That sounded mental but I liked it.

Hi, no one asked for your opinion on his wheels. It's HIS money, not yours. I actually like the red wheels, its loud and has a good contrast. No need to be a dick to the guy he is asking for help.
