Default F Type R seat uncomfortable?

Sat in the F Type R AWD coupe at the NAIAS a few days ago. The seat was bulging into my upper back between my shoulder blades. Is this normal? I think it might get annoying when driving, but perhaps you get used to it?

Leather headliner in the car was amazing btw.

With my ftyper, the seats are some of the best I've every had, for middle to long distance as well.
They are adjustable in a multitude of ways... mine is stored for the winter in my garage so I have not sat in it lately (unfortunately as its the best car I've owned) yet I do not recall any uncomfortableness in the area you mention. Could be an individual issue.
Might be an idea to go to a dealer and try a couple more and take the time to make adjustments.

Did you adjust the seats? There's an air bulge that you can inflate deflate. They are nice seats but not comfy like a luxury sedan if that's your expectations. A little firm to hold you in place.

They make my back hurt after a long period of time.

Yes, they are definitely firm seats but one of the most confortable seats I have owned. With the performance seats I can see how larger persons may find them uncomfortable as one of my larger passengers did not like them. However, the car is my daily driver and the seats are very comfortable to me because they enevelope and hold me in place as performance seats should.

For me they are more comfortable than the seats in my old TTRS which are the same seats as the ones in the R8. More adjustable too. I tend to get a pain in my lower back when driving for too long. I still get that in the R after a couple of hours on the road, but it took a lot longer for it to happen and was easier to alleviate than in the Audi. I managed to drive for 13 hours straight in the R.

Pretty much same experience for me with RS5. I am quite happy with the Jag seats. FAR more adjustable than Audi, which is impressive given we're talking about a performance seat rather than a slush bucket for a tourer.

Felt like it was the lower center part of the big headrest in the R seat that was pushing into my upper back. But if there's an air bladder to reduce this it would be fine.

I'm tall, 6'3", and the lower portion or the long "headrest" area of the seat definitely hits oddly, well below the neck and between the shoulders.

I found it annoying at first, and unlike any other seat I've occupied.
I believe all the bladders are lower - in the lumbar and lower thoracic region, so they are of no help with this projection of the seat...

After a few days however, I don't notice it anymore.
So I've quickly settled in without issue and definitely find the overall fit very supportive and comfortable.

Fight On!

I guess must be an issue with your specific torso size. For me I have no problems and find the seats to be quite comfortable. I took a 2 hour drive recently and was comfy the entire way.

I am 5'10" and the seats are very comfortable to me for a 2 seater. I've never driven the FType for more than 1 hour at a time but they're better than I expected.

6' 215lbs and love my performance seats. Arguably, the most comfortable I have ever had on any performance vehicle. They hug the body nicely without issue.

I would just add, extremely comfortable (and extremely supportive). I envision a cross country drive in my future - much as I did, twice, in an NSX - and anticipate no problems whatsoever.

And, yes, the leather headliner is quite nice.

I was concerned about the exact same thing, and after being reassured by some members on this forum several months ago, the bulge does indeed "disappear".
By the way, I am 6'1".

Not noticed on my standard seats - even though I'm one of those weirdos who like to use head restraints as head rests. 6'1". Foosh?

Yes, no issues with the base seats and a long torso at 6'2". The base seats are nicely sculpted too, which keep you in place during hard cornering, but they don't have those wings at shoulder level (for tall people). I assume is what some find uncomfortable.

I find the base seats extremely comfortable, and did a six-hour road trip with no seat discomfort.

The F-Type R seats are the same as in the XKR-S. I complaint about the same issue. I am 6 feet but seem to have a very long upper body and rather short legs. I usually tower over everybody sitting, even if they are overall taller than me.
I assume the bulge is for the neck but for me it was between the shoulder blades or at the bottom of the neck. After two years in the XKR-S I do not feel the bulge anymore. the performance seats are some of the most comfortable seats I have owned. I have done a 1,600 mile trip over about a week with my wife in the XKR-S. We drove a minimum off 5 hours every day with close to 10 hours on the first and last day. No issues in regards to the seats. Very comfortable. No lower back pain or numbness in the legs. We owned a Cayman, a Boxster and turbo before our Jags and none were as comfortable on long drives as the performance seats in the XKR-S.

After repeated, face-flattening accelerations the bulge is definitely gone

Although, driving this car has been known to cause a different kind of bulge

I was going to ask if the bulge was in the front or rear of your pants, but better taste prevails.
