Well, did what I promised myself that I would not do since these vehicles depreciate hard and fast. I wanted to buy a used one but ended up buying a new one from the showroom floor. Here is the thread when I started to look for a car and asked for feedback on what to inspect when buying a used one (2019 P340). Thank you again to all of those that contributed to my learning on what to lookout for:
This is what I ended up buying: a 2024 Jaguar F-Type R75 AWD Coupe in Santorini Black exterior paint with Tan/Ebony/Tan interior leather. Besides the standard equipment, it has the following optional equipment (taken from the window sticker):
24MY F-Type Final Edition
Full Extended Leather Upgrade
20" Style 5061, 5 Split-spoke, Satin Grey Wheels
Meridian Surround System (770W)
Santorini Black Metallic Paint
Black Brake Calipers
Nubuck Edged Carpet Mats
Handover Pack
Tan Windsor Leather Performance Seats
Car had 16 miles when I bought it. A few photos from today.
And this is me just before getting in and driving away...
First thing that had to go was the front license plate mount.
I should have researched how others have removed it... but I was a little bit impatient. The plate is held in place with four bolts. That was easy. What is left behind are two brackets.
These are held in place with a bolt that it is screwed from the inside of the grill, into the metal bracket. The bolt creates a clamping force securing a crossbar and the plate with the grill in the middle.
For the life of me, I could not get a wrench in there to loosen the bolt. So I used a hacksaw to make a slot on the end of the bolt. Sprayed some WD-40 to lubricate the threads and started to undo the bolt. It got loose enough where the crossbar came loose and rotated. This allowed for the complete assembly to be removed. Rinse and repeat for the second bracket. I was so relieved. I did not wanted to have to undo a lot of the under covers to get to those two bolts.
Yeah, getting this start/stop shut off for good at some point probably is not a bad idea. Not quite sure what’s involved there, but that thing is annoying for sure.

I will look at the location of this plug in this car. Having it completely disabled would be great.
So no errors, no recorded anything in the system by doing this? I will search the forum for more details. Thank you for the suggestion!
3rd mod should be to sort out the alignment of those wheel center caps! Growler's chin pointing to valve, please!
I'd also put the locking wheel nut (if you leave 'em on) between the center cap and the valve - I like a bit of symmetry!
I will do so right now !!! Hahaha... I have the crest emblem on my other cars, pointing in the same way. Was not aware it was a thing with the Jaguar as well.
Wheel nut, will do as well. I was thinking about just removing those and installing the normal one back. Still not decide, but while I do, I will fix it, lol. I guess that this is the way
Oh, and this showed up. But I was ready for it. I had learned the simple fix of disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds or so. First I made sure that the battery was fully charged and then proceeded to disconnect. Message went away.
I need to dig the diagram on how to properly connect the pig tail for a battery tender. For now I just have the alligator clamps hook up under the bonnet in the front.
wow, finding a new one I take it the dealer installed the stripe or who? I like it.
I got my 2023 R last March used with 2000 mi on it. Sticker at $126K and I paid $86K. Almost new and $40K depreciation. You better keep it for a long while !!

Stripe was factory installed on the Final Editions...
Are you trying to make me feel better with how much you saved buying it slightly used? That is why I did not wanted to buy it new... but oh well. And yes, I will keep it foreverrrrrrrrrrrr!! , lol.
Interesting that they did all this blackout style but left the tailpipes chromed... They do not bother me, but why leaved them chrome? They should have finished them off in flat black to go with the rest of the theme.
I guess they do bother me if I am calling it out. Need to see if those are easy to remove and have them powder coated or paint them with ceramic high-temp paint. Or if replacements in black are easily available.
EDIT: Search is my friend. They all came with chromed tips. To remove the tips, I would need to grind a spot weld. Not going through process right now, I am good with chrome tips.

I removed my locking nuts as they have a tendency to become a bit fragile over time and can cause issues down the line. Alloys aren't as popular a theft item these days, or so it seems to me.
Wow! way to turn lemons into lemonade - congrats on the new ride. Not that you had the chance to drive the old car, but big difference between that and what you ended up with. And being an R75, I expect the depreciation will only end up a 50% of original value instead of the standard 40% the rest of us experience (sorry had to)
I don’t want to be more specific because I think they moved stuff around in that area over the years. JagBass said his wasn’t exactly where I found mine.

Just curious. Ia the stripe painted or tape? I noticed at least 50% of the new cars on Autotrader have that stripe installed.
