First one: I liked the key fob that my wife's F-Pace came with. So I ordered some housings/casings with sticker (logo) to swap at least one of the ones that came with my car. Got them from AliExpress
Removed the original key to swap into the new one. There is some work required to make it fit. For the electronics, that is an easy swap.
I have two of the F-Pace housing... but only using one for now. So one with the F-Type style and one with the F-Pace style.
Car came with a new leaper keychain and a leather one. But I had this one from when my wife had her F-Pace. Will use this one for now. I really like this style of housing better. Like I said, a silly modification.
Second one was just swapping out the dealer tag frame for a black rubber/silicone frame.
Found this video for the disabled start stop business, which seems pretty consistent with the pic posted above. This was a 2020, but I assume it will be the same for 2021-2024 as well? I would think anyway.
Not sure why the video link doesn’t display here for me like normal, not sure if you guys see it or not…Keeps asking me to enter a pass phrase but it never seems accept the right answer.

[QUOTE=wachuko;2901566]Okay, laugh all you want... but new owner, so bare with me... pretty excited to I will be sharing photos often until the fever wears off...
Workshop is a mess, but enough space to park it there for now...
Left it with a battery tender for
I am wondering where the ZP fits in with this "final edition" I notice a Union Jack and a us flag. For the 2024 model I can't believe they didn't deliver the ZP to these markets.

Okay, weird, I see it now too. There was something going on with YouTube last night, so perhaps it was something to do with that…Not sure…I too have a 2024, and I have not looked for sure see if this will works exactly the same way as in the video.
I’ll probably do it if no codes get thrown etc, but I generally just shut it off as part of my driving sequence. Generally not a big deal, but I inevitably forget and get reminded how dumb of a feature the auto start/stop is ;-0

The ZP was certainly available in the US and Canada. I see at least 2 ZPs on the market in Canada right now, but I’ve never seen this “Final Edition” version with the stripe for sale here. Clearly it seems to be a US and UK version? Perhaps?
OP, I’d be curious to know what changed your thought process and made you go from looking at a much cheaper used F-types to going with a new R?
I know some think it’s crazy to buy these cars new, but I personally really think that it depends on the situation. The F-type, for me, has always been at the top of a reasonably short list of cars I’ve been interested in. I think if you are the type of person that changes cars like socks it would be an incredibly bad idea to buy one of these cars new. For sure.
In my case this car very much resonated with me (since the day it first came out), and I have no plans to get rid of the car. I keep most of my car purchases minimum 8 to 10 years, and in the case of this car the plan is to hold it much longer than that. I also wanted the experience of buying the car new under a warranty, with an allocation so that I could spec it exactly as I wanted it right from factory. Given these goals, and my ownership timeline, paying new prices is irrelevant in my view. It will average out over the years, and I will know how the car has been treated.
To each their own.

That is a beautiful car that you have there. Enjoy it in good health.
Apologies in advance for the long reply.
Like you, I fell in love with the style of this car the first year it came out. My wife and I went to a Jaguar event when it first came out. They had it at a local track, with a few other Jaguar models, so we could try it. I find it to be one of those timeless designs that has aged well. I have always wanted one.
We never pulled the trigger on it... We did get an F-Pace for my wife (did that twice).
Our children are now out of the house. We have started to payoff everything and switching to avoiding debt. Sold the big house, bought a smaller house. You know, getting ready for when retirement age comes along. I am 58 so still a few years to go, but wanted to be ready early. So in the last few years I got the toys that I wanted to play with for when I retire. I wanted to build a small workshop in the back, for my projects, some machinist tools (as I wanted to learn all that), etc. I have been able to do that, and so far, all paid for.
I did not wanted to get into a big loan... that was the reason I was looking for an used F-Type. But it had to be 2019 or newer. I wanted it to be less that US$40K so that I could buy it and not have to get into a loan. This is a car that I was not going to get rid of. I am no stranger to working on my cars and reading here in the forum and looking at the videos, I knew I could do everything to it. That is why I was so excited with the 2019 that I found, it was a one owner car from Palm Beach, FL. I looked perfect in terms of the cosmetics. Had the right seats that I wanted, loved the color combination, etc. It was a V6 but the sound of the V6 is amazing, I did not care it was not a V8 (I did not get to drive that one, but had driven others). And when they called me that they could not figure out the misfires after swapping injectors, spark plugs, etc. I was just going to go for it and figure it out myself. But I did not wanted another project (I have four of those: 3 Porsche and 1 VW bug) to sit in the garage. I wanted a reliable driver for many years to come.
The only two things that are not paid off is my wife's car and my Jeep Gladiator. This is why I did not wanted another car payment... I need two more years, from the company that I work for, to be able to pay off these as well... That was the plan.
I too like to buy the cars new, for the same reasons you stated. You know how it was taken care of. You have all the factory warranty for 5 years, keep it for a long time, etc. But that was not the plan with this one. As I mentioned, it was an impulse buy after getting frustrated with what I saw and impatient with wanting one as quickly as possible, to be able to enjoy now.
I am happy beyond what I can express... scared as well, lol, now I need three more years minimum from my work... so that sense of peace of mind I had three days ago, is gone . Oh well, I know, not a bad situation to be in.. must press on.
Again, apologies for the long reply. Back to normal programming.
Are you trying to make me feel better with how much you saved buying it slightly used? That is why I did not wanted to buy it new... but oh well. And yes, I will keep it foreverrrrrrrrrrrr!! , lol.
HA, yeh I was teasing you a little. It was more a comment on the first owner who was an idiot for putting 2000 mi on the car over 8 mo and then dumping it.
Not like I've not bought new. Bought the Corvette new myself. In fact ordered it, then watched it get built over 2 days in Bowling Green.

Right on man, well good for you. I tend to think you made an alright decision, but I’m a bit biased ;-0
In all seriousness, it sounds like our mentalities might be similar. I bought this thing at 49. All the important stuff has been taken care of, so why not. Only live once. It made sense to me. I too plan to run the car into retirement, which for me will probably only be another 5 years or so from now.
OP, what are your plans exhaust-wise? No doubt you are aware you can pull fuse 15 to keep the valves open etc…On the assumption that you likely have an interest in being able to keep the valves open sometimes, are you aware of the issues around doing that by pulling fuse 15?
If not, there is a thread on here talking about the issues, and some solutions people are using to avoid the risks of pulling fuse 15 on these newer cars.

I was going to leave it stock. But now you got me curious... let me research on that. Thank. you.

Oh man, I can only assume that some of your draw to this car is how it sounds. Stock it is really quite neutered compared to the older cars given that it keeps the valves closed below 3500 rpm. Keeping the valves open the entire rev range absolutely transforms the cars. Unbelievable difference.
In any case, for your convenience, here is the thread discussing the issues around pulling fuse 15 —>
In that thread it also talks about an aftermarket ASR valve controller that some of us on the forum have installed in order to be able to achieve having the valves open all the time when we want to without the risks of pulling fuse 15.
In case this is something that might interest you, here is an install guide that was put together for the ASR valve controller —>
Post 20 and 28 in this install guide thread also sorta gives my summary of the fuse 15 pulling issues talked about in the PSA thread (Based on the totality of info available at this point).
Cheers

What is the benefit of it? Not having to press the button on the console? And remembering last setting selected? Trying to see what is the benefit besides remembering the last setting I remembered.
I can tell you which is the one that I am doing right away. That dreaded Auto Shutoff. Pulling that plug today.
