Default F Type Start-Up Noise

Reference V6S:

Is there any way the 'wake-the-neighbours' roar on start-up can be programmed out?

Is there any way the system can be reprogrammed so that the exhaust system silencer valves close rather than remain open on start-up and on tick-over below 1100rpm?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Unfortunately, not. The valves are closed by vacuum which needs to build up after the engine is started.

Put it in gear a few seconds after start up. This will cut down on the exhaust note by half.

depending on your point of view it’s a joy or a scourge that can’t be changed. You could program out your neighbours but I doubt they’d like that...earmuffs anyone

I see it as a joy, but houses are pretty spaced out where I live. I recommend moving to a new place where there are no neighbors.

Was just wondering this same thing. I understand it's supposed to emulate a Jaguar's natural roar but in certain situations it's a bit much, lol.

Late night startups = neighbors lights turning on. Love the noise though

Start the car with garage door closed to muffle the sound. Obviously don’t run the car in an enclosed garage for more than a minute or two but it might help from angering the neighbor.

My neighbor was unhappy with the 'noise', but I let him drive the car, and now he just smiles and waves.
