5 pieces is dubious, because one is a Dob kit for toiletries, and one is a laptop case for a small laptop.

That means the garment bag and two larger pieces. The garment bag is absolutely fantastic, and it's great for air travel. The other two pieces are very soft sided and probably best suited for road trips and never the Air Travel Part.

I'm 100% sure that the five-piece was crafted for the convertible trunk to fit like puzzle pieces. You should have lots of room in the coupe.

I am doing a big trip this summer. We should share routes! Lots of national parks for me! I got the luggage rack for the vert boot... To boot!

Hey Uncle Fishbits,

Unfortunately I won't take delivery of my SVR until April of next year . But if your route takes you through Golden CO. there's a nice brewery tour I can tell you about. I'd get you a case of beer - but it wouldn't fit in your trunk . I can also tell you about a very cool visit at the Colorado Railroad Museum. I'm affiliated with both...

- but it wouldn't fit in your trunk...

...but then again you'll have a newly installed luggage rack. Hmmm, with the support of a few strategically placed bungies...

The lugagge set fits in the vert, but hard to get in and out. Only set that works though, other then that you will travel with duffel bags only or one suitcase.

I have been on a car trip to Nurburgring this week and stayed at Dorint Hotel at the GP-track. When I came down in the garage one morning, I found this car parked next to me:

It looked like some kind of test car with several cameras inside and a gps-device stucked/teiped to the roof with a cord going inside the coupe.

Nice looking car!

I travelled with some other nice cars - Ferrari 599, 430 Scuderia, 488, GT3 RS (2016), GT2 and Turbo S ++

The fun thing was that I had no problem keeping up with them on the autobahn. On the "free speed" roads when we accelerated from aprox 100 mph and upwards to almost 200 mph, I was able to stay close to all of them.

The F-type R performed very well, and I could not be happier with the performance.

Wow.. It sounds like you had a lot of fun and looking at the picture the caravan of cars is gorgeous. I can't wait to be able to do something similar here. We need to get a local road trip meet up this summer.

Yes it is.

On another note, that side-by-side w/ Arne's car really accentuates the nose design difference. I much prefer the original.

Two more:

Might have some better pics on the other camera, but I have not had time to download them yet. These are from my phone, so sorry for the poor quality.

Hey Arne, I might be heading to the Ring in Sept come down if your free. From what I have seen so far I believe I hold the top speed record for the FType 335kmh (208MPH).. Sadly I didn't video it. I'm looking to make the car more efficient where possible and this time record it!

Note the SVR Exhaust, simply put is a modern masterpiece. It is made from Inconel and Titanium.. For those of you who do not know Inconel is used in F1 cars and is the lightest and temperature coolest metal that's available (very expensive usually and not always available).

Hi Oracle. That is some serious top speed. Is that true (GPS) speed, or readouts from the digital display?

Unfortunately the trafic (and weather) was not the best for us this time, so I never got the chance to see what my F-type was good for. It did felt very stabil in speeds up to 280 km/h though.

What have you done to your car to achive such high top speed?

And yes - get it documented nex time! Would love to see it

The readout was from the display, I believe it could be 4mph out at that speed. The car was stable, however after 200mph it started to feel lighter yet still stable remember I have the V8s so I need to add a splitter and spoiler to the car to improve stability after 200mph.

BTW - I should make this clear to everyone, doing these types of speeds is highly risky. If you feel you are not skilled to handle a car at such speeds do not attempt it as you could endanger yourselves and others. Ensure you purchase the right tyres if you intend to do high speed driving, I had PZeros at the time which is one of the reasons I let go of the throttle. Make sure the road surface you will drive on is suitable, ensure the vehicle is in sound functional order and avoid days that are 21+Deg C.

The upgrades I have made to-date are as follows;
1. Air filter element upgrade
2. Sport Cats
3. ECU Tune

I believe the car has apprx 560bhp, I was running a mixture of BP 98RON & ARAL 101RON.

Not sure I'd do it in the convertible - that's quite a battering the roof would take.

Holy Moly!

335km/h?

Really?

It would seem your ECU tune removed the speed limiter (usually 300km/h in a V8S).

I've done similar stuff - and have probably 600hp in my V8S 'vert which was upped to V8R tune then a Racechip intercept box applied - does 11.7s in the Qtr Mile with a trap of 123mph using RWD traction only so the power estimate is likely genuine.

At a recent top speed run I chickened out at 282km/h as the rear wing had pushed the front end up so much it the steering was light as a feather and an unseen road-bump pushed me 2 metres into the oncoming lane so I won't try it again until I've pulled the fuse for the wing - as aerodynamically it seems poorly suited to very high speeds.

335km/h is a HUGE speed. I really didn't think it was possible - but given the SVR has only 575hp and is 'limited' to 320km/h it does suggest it would go quite a bit faster if unrestricted - if it were only 2-3km/h more they wouldn't have bothered to limit it.

Judging from your trap speed, I don't think that Racechip box is doing much of anything. My guess is you're around the standard 550.

It's the same trap speed as the Hennessey HPE600 with 623hp.

Cheers
