F-Type SVR Discussion Thread
OK, will do. Hmm, I hope they get it right on mine. Did you have it on your order and they missed it, or did the dealer forget to put it on the order? I think those are god ideas. The louvers on the hood help break up some of the large expanse of blue on the hood and mirrors make nice accents.
Got the car today, and the Ultra Blue is indeed amazing in person. Had a blast driving it today, too. Worth the wait!
Doc, mine was also supposed to have carbon fiber accents and didn't. According to my dealer SVO didn't want to work on the cars with the expensive trim on there, maybe too much activity around those parts would lead to breakages, I don't know.... But rather than send back to the factory for this after the SVO treatment was done, they decided to do it at the dealers and apparently the parts are on their way for the body guy to apply once I schedule it.

It is gorgeous!! The blue is just breathtaking. My dealer, too, says he is waiting on carbon parts to show up, however, they did not charge me for the package in the purchase price. I hope they don't try to stick me with labor charges. How did your dealer handle the cost of the package?
No comp. I am expecting to pay the 4K when the parts show up. My dealer has made several little frustrating mistakes, including losing my personalized plates, but I am so happy with the car I will stick with them. Initial build quality seems good. Only little glitch I notice is the drver window automatic open/close doesn't work, so I will need to get the electronics to the window reset. The car feels and sounds solid as a rock otherwise. Congrats! I know you are thrilled with the looks and the noise!

1. Close the window fully, and release the switch.
2. Lift the switch to the close position, and hold for 2 seconds.

Devlman,
I see u bought your SVR from Lake Bluff. Beautiful car! I purchased a XFR from Connie at Lake Bluff in 2011. I am actually looking at a SVR. Connie told me they are going to have a black one with CCBs mid August. If you don't mind me asking, did you pay full sticker price or get a deal? If u did get a deal, what % off sticker did u pay? Thanks.
Btw, the other vehicle I am looking to purchase is a different type of car, the Mercedes AMG GLE 63 s coupe.

That would be me for my SVR. After getting the final quote, I emailed the dealer and requested a $5,000 discount. When the sales manager replied, "We always charge full MSRP for custom orders", I politely told him that I would make the same offer to another JLR dealer. If they accepted, then they would get my business. If they declined then I would be back. It took him all of 10 minutes to reply that they would accept my offer - and they threw in a free car cover...
I received 5% off sticker (approx $6450) but my sales manager originally would not budge from 2K off sticker, the GM of the dealership gave the percentage off to me to make up for several little mistakes the sales team made which added up to a bad experience. I am moving forward with them and felt the deal was fair for such a new model. They ARE trying to tell me they made no money on my deal but we all know that is just posturing on their part.
For those of you who might want to consider Caldera Red for your SVR but haven't seen one yet here it is! The Dealer just got it and a white coupe in last week...
Something about it just doesn't work...for me I think it's the rims, both the style and the way the color sort of blends into the tire. And I agree the color is a bit too orange; this might be a hotter item in bright red. Somehow this config just looks a little cheap on an actually rather expensive car.
Devlman - that blue is so nice! I know it is hard to change anything on a new car, but black rims - or powdercoating those gloss black - would make that car near perfect. Look at the window trim, the diffuser - both saying black wheels please.
The black pack trim calls for it ... just imo ... all personal taste. That, and the 15mm spacers. Just my too-poor-to-own-one advice!
PS - it is really odd, but I don't believe black rims look good on that Caldera. I've seen a few black rims on blue XKR-S cars and they look great. They should have not have got rid of Salsa Red - no SR SVR is a crime.
