F-Type SVR Discussion Thread

There is a guy on Ebay who sells the genuine Carbon Vents, the rest of it is over priced in my opinion, let me know if you get any stone chips on the paint work of the rear wheels as they seem to attract them, but other than that enjoy an amazing car (less the painful running in )

This is SVR convertible with carbon package and brown top. Received it last October, drove it through the winter using SottoZero snow tire on standard F type wheels.
SVR with snow tires. A second set of generic F type rims was ordered with the care - shown here - to allow winter tire fit.

back to original wheels?
The wheels pictured are just for snow tires - primary reason I purchased the jags(we actually have another F type R besides the SVR) was their ability with 4wd to be used during winter (I live in WI) - but the SVR wheels would be nearly impossible to get actual high performance snow tires that would fit. I have to tell you that more people tell me they like the silver ones in the picture more than the SVR wheels - not that it matters much. Both cars we have other wheels for summer, and all wheels get beat up in winter driving so cheaper ones make more economic sense in any case.
As for the beige top (and interior), while all color decisions are ultimately just personal whims. I think it is dramatic improvement over

the standard black. The black looks like a baseball hat on top of light color cars. It separates itself from the lines of the car, where the brown seems to continues the liens. Besides, I am nearly 70, I have had a awful lot of convertibles and I am just sick of black tops on a personal level. White tops always look dirty to me, beige hits the spot.

Have you had any chips in the rear wheels? mine have got several chips in the middle of the spokes and its not like i've been driving through gravel! car has done 5k miles and not a mark on the bodywork but both rear wheels in that matt grey are chipped in about 5 places so far, just wondering if the paint isn't that hard? love the feel of them when cleaning though, its quite an interesting texture unlike normal alloys

If you're referring to the Automatic Speed Limiter (ASL), you can either use that, or the cruise control - not both at the same time. There's a button on the steering wheel to activate it, then use the +/- buttons to set the max speed. The car will only exceed that if you push the accelerator to the kick-down switch (or perhaps on a downhill.)
