Default F-Type tires - not PS4S

Hi all, first post here, and it's about tires, which have been discussed already a million times!

My question is a little different I guess: I've been through the results and can see the Michelin PS4S is the preference and reco from most of you (vs the factory fitted) P Zero.

Unfortunately, that tire is not widespread where I live (Dubai), or it's prohibitively expensive.

PS4 (non S), on the other hand, is only slightly more expensive than P Zeros here.

So my question is: keeping in mind I live in Dubai (so wet no issue), the car is the 340HP 2014 Convertible model and will never drive on track (bit of spirited driving once in a while that's it), and taking into account comfort, noise, life, what would be your preference, PS4 or P Zeros? (and for what reasons?)

Thanks!

What tires that are in your sizes are easily available in your area?

There are a couple of us on the forums based here in Dubai, welcome!

Assuming you have the 19 inch wheels (most of the base F-Types here are specd with them), and I've got the tire sizes right, you can try the tires below.

The Falkens have apparently got better grip than the Michelin PS4S but wear in line with the P Zeros (maybe even worse). On the plus side, they're significantly cheaper than both. Have left the website link in case you're interested in taking the plunge. Let us know your thoughts if you do.

Personally, changing from the P Zeros to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport was a game changer on my previous base F-Type. Even moreso when I began modding it.

I also have a '14 V8S and am interested in getting the VelocityAP tune and lower pulley. How do you like it? I am currently working in Kuwait and frequent Dubai. Perhaps when the current situation subsides, I can visit again and would love to meet up with some fellow forum members.

Of course! I have a couple of friends as well with an upper pulley + Viezu tuned V8R and with a stock V8R so we can give you a tour of the whole show! Do let me know when you're down

I love the tune + crank pulley. My work is also quite a drive away so I've clocked 150km per day for the past 50,000km and I've had 0 issues. Gonna install the upper pulley as well once everything is back to normal hehe

I've been running these very tires for about 10,000 miles now. They were great at the track and far better than the P-Zeros on the street.

The only one of the bunch that I wouldn't consider would be the Dunlops. They seem to have weak construction as when I ran them before, they would blow out very easy from potholes. It's possible they have updated iterations but I wouldn't trust them.

My DD isn’t an F-Type (I need back seats and an XF/XE are too slow 😜 )but I do have some tire input. I’m a huge fan of Michelin PSS and PS4S, but recently switched to experiment with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (also known as Bridgestone Potenza RE003 outside North America).

In all honesty, I’ve only had them on for 2 weeks, done some 1/4 mile passes but no circuit track yet(due this summer). They replaced my PSS that still we’re at 4/32. So far I’m loving them and at half the cost..

I’m sure there’s a traction difference on a circuit track(maybe becomes greasy faster?) but for aggressive street use, I’ve yet to see/feel any differences.

Fyi, I’m not too worried about thread life, most of my tires expire before they near 2/32.

thanks all for your answers! Seems I can't do anything at the moment because of the confinement, but might be a good thing, as will allow me to wait for 2020 tires, instead of 2019.

To those in Dubai/region: yes would be great to organise something when all this is over!
