Feedback through Floorboards When Changing Gears
Forgive me if this is a dumb question. It is something that i noticed the first time after the car was broken in and I ran it up to near redline through the first several gears.(2021 F Type R w/8 speed ZF auto)
When in the Dynamic mode, manual shift mode and using the paddle shifters if I am in the lower gears and floor it, run up to above 6000 RPM and change gears, I feel a strong bang or thump through the floorboard beneath my feet. It will chip the tires between the 1-2, and 2-3 gear changes too. It shifts very fast and quite hard and the 0-100 speed is pretty impressive.
Do the rest of you guys also feel that hard thump through your floorboard ? When not in Dynamic and with the transmission just in D I am always impressed with how smooth the ZF transmission is and how well the computer chooses the gears for whatever the driving situation is or from throttle input. When shifting manually in Dynamic it feels like a dual clutch auto with very positive and rapid changes.

It's almost certainly two components knocking together due to engine torque. Get the car on a lift and look around under the car with a flashlight, looking closely for "shiny metal", indicating contact between two items. It's "probably" one of the exhaust pipes hitting something, either the chassis or a heat shield. It's also possible that a loose bolt is allowing something to momentarily shift. My car had a broken engine mount, which allowed the engine to rise up on the left side and hit the hood under hard acceleration, but of course everything looked fine when sitting still.

I sure hope nothing is broken. The car only has 5400 miles on it and has not been driven hard. I guess I better make an appointment with the dealer for an inspection.
I would like to drive another newer F type to compare though.

The engine mounts are hydraulically damped and there have been premature failures. There may be evidence of leakage, but you can also do a simple test. The first post in this thread describes that:

Thanks lizzardo, I'll do the test as described in that other thread. I may be overthinking the situation, what I'm feeling may just be the result of the enormous torque that the V8 produces combined with the fast and hard shifting transmission when in the Dynamic mode as it is applying that power through the drive shaft and to the rear wheels.
No one else with a newer R model has noticed that ?
