I found a couple of photos of the OEM Jaguar part # T2R11322. Several stateside Jaguar dealers sell them for around $46-$48. The photo shows what appear to be those plastic expanding plugs like are used for trim pieces and go into pre-drilled holes to attach the part. Is that correct ? Are there holes under the carpet ?

This has been commented on on the Pommy forum but no, there are no pre-drilled holes and you need to drill them yourself.
I for one would never do that and instead I would use some strong double sided tape.
I have a cheapo Aliexpress one on my F-Type which came with tape on the back and it hasn't budged a micron in four years.
Doesn't look as good as the pictured / OEM one but looks good enough and almost identical to the Amazon one linked by Dwight for a tiny fraction of the price of the OEM one.

One of the guys on that site actually used the hooked part of Velcro to fix it to the carpet, which seems a better, less messy, idea than double-sided tape.

is there a “stock” placement or did you just drill where the pedal would look good? I just ordered the factory plate and was curious. Thanks.

What exactly are you drilling into ? Through the carpet and the floor pan or through some kind of internal interior piece ?

Ya got me!
I just checked the Rimmer Bros site (UK) for the ridgy didge F-Type footrest and I was gobsmacked by how little it cost - a whopping $66.06 AU including postage from the UK to my door in Oz. That is around 1/3 the cost I remember from the last time I checked!
Needless to say I bought one on the spot.

Exactly where I got mine - I think it was $48 to me in the U.S. - Not sure if it will make a difference and one of drivers mats actually covers that area, but it was cheap enough to take a shot.

Drill thru carpet until you feel break thru. I have zero auto skills and it was no problem.

My car came with the sports mats and I ordered the OEM "luxury" jaguar mats (slightly more material and feels more plush) as well as a set of OEM rubber mats but I also ordered 2 different sets that covers the entire footwell....Tuxmat and a set of stitched mats off amazon.

Amazon Amazon

Amazon Amazon

I tried both of the mats that cover the entire footwell but felt like it made the car feel much smaller and went back to the OEM luxury mats and a footrest that I bought off amazon. I bought a cheap footrest that stays put with an adhesive and haven't had any issues but might upgrade and go with the drilled in set.

How did you get Taxmat? They don't seem to make them for the F-Type.
