I guess they have a purpose when the car is locked, but, since I share a garage with the wife's MB I try to park as close to the R. edge of the garage door frame as possible. It would be nice to fold in the mirror before the parking maneuver as a precaution against contacting the door frame. Has anyone found a way to collapse the mirror on-demand while still driving and gain that extra couple inches of clearance?

 

Per the manual, there are two buttons to adjust the side mirrors, one for the left mirror and one for the right. If you press both buttons at the time time, it will fold the mirrors in/out.
