Default Front cowl section

I've removed my front license plate bracket in anticipation of using the STO N SHO bracket. After removing the factory bracket, I found five ugly holes drilled in the Center Cover that spans the grill. See picture below:

Given that I have an incurable case of automotive OCD (or CDO as I like to refer to it - hint that's OCD in alphabetical order) I want to replace this whole section. Another user was kind enough to find it for me on a Jag parts site and I've ordered it already. But after looking at mine for some time, I'm unable to figure out how this part is actually installed so that I can remove it when the new one arrives. Has any removed and/or replaced theirs?

From what I understand, the front bumper cover has to come off. I'm going to be installing the P7 grill mod and anticipate removing the bumper cover. Still undecided if I will do myself, or take to the body shop. If I know me like I think I do, I'll probably do it myself.

Yes, the bumper cover must come off to replace this part...and then it has to be refitted carefully to align the multiple panel gaps correctly.
Alternatively, you can fill those ugly holes, sand smooth and repaint that piece.

Look at the threads for installation of the P7 grille and you'll see how it comes apart. At least one of the threads has pictures of the process. You might also be able to do a little filling and then wrap without pulling it all apart. I think that R&R is about half a day's work.
