Front parking sensors....
I just bought my '16 F-Type R roadster a couple days ago and unfortunately, it didn't come with the Vision Pack (for a $100K+ car, why it isn't standard equip. is beyond me). Anyways, I noticed that there are "fake" sensor/mounts near the front bumper. Does this mean I can still retrofit front sensors if I wanted to?
Even the base V6 w/ no options has the blank sensor plugs. In 2 years here, I've never heard of anyone adding the vision pack , and it probably requires a fair amount of disassembly to add sensors, wiring, software and either another module or replacing the head unit itself.
I suspect it's doable, but I also suspect it wouldn't be cheap.

NAV-TV is your best option at this point, but I'm not sure it fits MY16 (it's listed for MY14&15).

It integrates into the center display. Supports front and/or rear cameras. $550 for the control unit. $125/camera at their site (link below). You can trim that a bit if you shop around. Figure $200-$300 for installation. One member said he got the parts for $700, including 2 cameras - although he only ended up doing the rear. Installation was $130, but I didn't find anyone around here that would touch that price. It might help if you're in a larger market with shops that have more experience and competition.

It's probably worth noting that they only seem to work in reverse, so aren't much help in protecting the front end while parking.
@jaguar: please feel free to jump in with any news of software updates to rectify this...

Is this for the Nav-TV system?

No. He was referring to the front sensors. Highly erratic and unreliable.
The primary reason I'm installing a front camera at the same time I have the front clip removed to change out the front grill to a one-piece Project 7 grill.

I found that you have to pause a little and let it start beeping. It's like everything else in the car, there's a slight delay to the radio, nav, sensors, etc.
My front sensors work fine. Once you punch the button, it takes a couple of seconds for them to respond, but once working they've kept me out of trouble. If anything they are a bit conservative meaning you can get closer than when the sensor turns red.
