Fuel/oil pump timing chain loose, tensioner replacement question.
Completed a regular timing chain job and got a crank no start. That's when I did research and came to the revelation that I ignored the obvious slack in my oil/fuel pump timing chain. I read a thread where a guy was able to replace the tensioner without removing the engine. But how do I correctly position timing marks without removing engine aswell? It is my understanding that fuel pump cam can also be 180 degrees out(fomoco lettering on bottom) but it is not a big deal. Looking back at videos I took I could see that my fuel cam was 180 degrees out when crank was at 6 o clock. Would I be okay to just replace tensioner and not worry about the timing marks?
Here is one guide I found for removing lower tensioner without dropping the oil pan
