Hi folks, anyone know how to fully disassemble the side view mirror? My goal is to cut a hole and feed the camera and wire through to the door.

i have got to the point pictured below and i don’t think i can progress further without your knowledge!

I can help with one little thing - the sensor on the underside of the driver's mirror (on a LHD car) is the ambient temperature sensor. It's where the temp display on the dash comes from.

I found another location to tap into, much easier to open the base plate on the mirror post and there’s just enough height for the camera and wire.
