Garage Door Auto-Closer $35
Just thought I'd pass this on.
This was on sale at Amazon for $25 so I thought I'd give it a try.
Best super-simple garage auto-closer - you set time in minutes.
So when you forget to close your garage it does it for you. Wanted something EASY with no damn app.
Took ten minutes to install, super simple setup. Setting the minutes is just holding a button down and counting.
I often leave my garage open when I get home for fresh air and it is nice to know this will kick in after 20 mins and shut the door. Works with any opener, old or new.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of such a device. I often wonder "Hey, did I shut the garage door?" If I think that within a few blocks after leaving, I'll drive back to check. If I get very far, I'll pull over and check my security cameras on my phone. I did come home ONCE to find the garage door open.
But yes, don't leave your garage door open unless you are out there. A friend of mine had a rolling tool cabinet stolen from his garage about fifteen years ago. He left the garage open while mowing his lawn. He mowed the front yard and then while he was mowing the back yard, some people must have backed into his garage, hoisted his fully loaded tool cabinet into a truck and driven off. He didn't hear anything over the sound of the mower.
As an aside, Paul filed insurance, got a check and went on a tool shopping spree. But for years afterward, every time he had a new project or repair, he remembered yet another tool that had been stolen but that he forgot to claim. That prompted me to make an Access database, inventory all my tools and keep it updated. I have 807 tools in the database. No way I could remember well enough to make an accurate insurance claim if they were to disappear. I can't even remember if I shut my garage door or not. Keep your doors shut AND make yourself an inventory list.

Yes - just don't open the door all the way. Leave 6" and the device is not 'armed'.
It beeps 3 times when it sees the door as being opened. Then it does a string of beeps before auto-closing. Well worth the $$ to me. My garage is attached and if I forget, anyone can prance right up into my house.
I do VoIP phones and hosted surveillance cams for a living, but cameras only do so much. It doesn't stop the opportunistic thief from grabbing all she can. See? She? Could be a she.
