Default Hazard Lamps

Just purchased a 2016 F-Type R AWD 5.0L coupe. The hazard button on the control panel (next to recirculation button) remains illuminated after car has been turned. It does not shut off, although the lock buttons inside the car do shut down. No mention of this anywhere in the handbook. Any answers?

It should stay illuminated for about 10 minutes and then go out. If it is still illuminated after that time then most likely some module on the car is not going to sleep properly, which is *very* common on these cars if an improper disconnect of a scan tool occurs with the ODB II port. Remove one of the battery leads for 30 seconds and reconnect and it should reset. You'll have to reset the auto up/down windows and the rear hatch auto latch--both are very easy to do.

I would hook up a battery charger or maintainer pronto as that hazard triangle staying on drains the battery. It very well my save you from getting stranded somewhere.

Default Hazard light

IIRC, if the fob is stored too close to where the car is, the car thinks it should stay awake. I store my fob in one of those Faraday bag type key holders, and also inside the house. The other thing that's good about those Faraday protectors is thieves who are finding tools to scan homes for fob signals and then hijack the code to steal the car. Especially bad if you park your car in your driveway. The first is a link to a UK site, but I think this still happens in the US.
