Hazards not turning off
The other night I turned on my emergency flashers after driving with lights on for about 20 minutes and I couldn't get them (the flashers) to turn off by pushing the button. The button wouldn't pop back out. Eventually after a few minutes with the car off they did stop. Have tried them since and they seem to bre fine. Was this caused from the panel being lit and possibly too warm causing the button to not work? Any suggestions?
Button next to flashers (seat heater) wasn't on.

I have the same random problem and now keep one of these in the glove compartment.

It's my Valet button that sticks. Usually a finger flick to the center of the button does the trick, but I have one of the suction tools. I'll keep that in mind if it ever gets stubborn.

yah, my hazards can stick too. you can 'adjust' it by removing the console, and re-tighten/loosen the screws that hold the rear plate on. Overtightening them and uneven torque can cause clearance problems of those buttons.
yeah, happened to me as well in my 99 XK8 while trying to express gratitude to a truck driver who moved out of my way...hahah, i could just speculate what he was thinking watching me driving away with flashers constantly on ;D. Anyway, I fixed this one time problem in a similar way to RaceDiagnostics...except I used my Credit Card to slide it underneath and slowly pull it with button pressed against it

My hazard lights are still on. No matter what I try! I took the dash apart, etc., nothing seems to work! I have the battery disconnected now but they refuse to turn off even after sitting in the driveway for several hours!? Can someone help me???
Thank you!

the button is sticking, surely! you can pop the button cover off if you have a 'hook' type tool, more than likely if just the cover isn't getting stuck to the adjoining fascia trim and nearby button, the inside part is stuck in the down position. Its safe, just pop the cover off and see if the middle part plunges in and out.

We can remove the buttons themselves? Without having to take the console apart? That's interesting. My entire row of buttons starting with the DSC is problematic from time to time. I always figured it was because some IPO sprayed Armorall (or equivalet) onto the buttons. If those buttons can safely come off, I'll be able to to do an alcohol wipe on the whole thing.

The button covers have two slots at top and bottom which clip over lugs on the button itself. Here's the Switch Pack out of the vehicle.

There's no need to remove the Switch Pack from the vehicle to pop the switch covers off. The pics just make it easier to see where the slots and lugs are.

Outstanding. Thanks GGG! Amazing forum.
So a dental pick, carefully used, should pop them free without damage.
Is my assumption about the probable build-up of gunk around/behind the buttons valid?

scardini1: Yup, gunk. The switches on that whole bank have very slim tolerances, and crap will build up and keep them from popping back out.
The first owner of my car was very unconcerned about taking his very creamed and sugared coffee along with him on his morning drive to work. After I got the car, EVERY switch on the console and radio got stuck from time to time - until I took them all out and used distilled water to clean 'em up.
Switches HATE sugar!
Good luck... It just takes a bit of time.

Is is possible he has a stuck/fused relay? I don't have any tech pubs yet, so I can't help there.
