Default Help…How do I get to TCU battery in 2017 F-type R convertible?

I have a 2017 F-type R convertible with the stupid SOS warning on my dash. Tried resetting and clearing via OBD-II and it’s still there. Reading that it may be the battery. Where is this battery and how (diagram?) do I get to it to take it out and buy a new one?

Default Maybe you don't want to replace it......

The update on this is that Jaguar has CEASED supporting the functions that this battery supplies power for... the Remote and Protect... being able to track the location of the car, lock/unlock, check windows, etc. and for owners with auto trans, remote start, for cars this age. The REAL issue is the TCU itself dying.

The link above shows how to get to the battery, but now there is NO sense in replacing it. In fact, you probably need to inquire with your Jaguar dealer as there is a very distinct dealer/Jaguar software update process to remove the Telematics from the car's software. From what my tech tells me, he has to HAVE the car in hand, so to speak, contact Jaguar in the UK.. supply the VIN and they do some CCF work and then send the revision back to him to install on my car.

Here is what my JLR tech sent to me: (the reference to the lights was to answer my question about the ambient lighting in the doors and grabhandle that was not enabled when I bought it, a non-issue any longer)

"They would send me a file and we would program it to the vehicle. The CCF is the Car Configuration File, it is essentially the build sheet every option and spec of the car is on it. For the car to operate with no lights we would have to tell it, it no longer has that option, Kinda like if you added a trailer hitch to a vehicle you would need to tell the vehicle it has it in order to enable the features that are built in to the car for it all to work. You don't need to wait for it [the TCU] to die for us to remove it from the CCF we can do at anytime. Remotely is kinda a loose term we would be connected to the car via a OBD cable to the VCI that then connects to the laptop the file will be on our computer, so its not really remote. The remote updates sound scary but they are nothing to worry about, all the cars 2018 or newer use the new scan tool called Topix Cloud and its an internet based scan tool and we really don't have any issues with it. As long as our internet is good and the vehicle has stable battery power everything programs and works. "

If you do so more digging here on the F forum, there are more threads on this entire issue.
