Also note, there is a small margin of side to side clearance for the injecter to "wiggle" in side the head
I suggest doing this by hand, once you have a wiggle, the slide hammer will work.

I keep hearing what a nightmare these are. How long are these supposed to last before you have to replace?

Theoretically they should never need to be replaced but as we know they fail/leak/clog up sometimes.
Mainly due to carbon build-up on/in the injector nozzles, and then to rub salt into the wound the same type of carbon build-up can make them a bear to get out.
I suggest regular use of a fuel system cleaner additive, it seems to work to prevent or at least reduce carbon build-up.
I use Redline SI-1 and BG 44K, alternating between the two, roughly every six months.
Another one which is highly recommended around here is Techron.
I reckon it is cheap insurance against the pain of having to replace injectors and even if it doesn't really do a helluva lot it can't do any harm.

Edit - I forgot to add - many JLR dealerships chuck a can/bottle of BG 44K in as part of every scheduled service, and I can only guess the main reason they do this is to reduce injector problems.

I use BG44K once a year, before the annual oil change. Fingers crossed that it’s helpful.

Months? Who has an F-Type and doesn't do that at least weekly?

I also use Techron and BK-44. Still can't notice any difference?

I used BK-44 and still lost fuel injectors, one one each side a year apart at about 27k miles. Both times I was high revving! I believe in the Italian tune up but that is when my injectors got stuck.

NBcat do you have what sizes the brass brushes should be?
We will need two sizes. The small one to clean the tip area out and a much larger one for the metal body.
I have not been able to find the dimensions of these injectors at least for the area's that need brushing?

Here are the area's I need to get the right sized brass brushes for.

Thanks to anyone who can provide these diameters.

If aged steak is any indication, it’s probably best paired with a glass of fine wine and a jar of grey poupon.

Any ideas of that can be restored without pulling the head and taking it to a shop? These 2 injectors was a real pain to remove.

My concern is the oxidation(specifically cylinder 5), not the stuck tip of the injector. That is easy to push inside and catch with a magnet through the spark plug hole.
