Help with top
i went to lower my top the other day and the flaps, cover wings whatever they're called won't drop down leaving the top in limbo. I looked i had dropped a very thin windbreaker in the well; removed it and still had the problem.
the only other issue was the battery kept reporting a low voltage status; disconnecting and reconnecting the battery fixed that. After the top drops I don't hear any motor noises associated with lowering the flaps.
whars the issue, what's the fix?
thanks

First off, I would put the battery on a charger or maintainer. These cars do unpredictable things if the battery is a bit low or weak, so make sure the battery is good before looking elsewhere.
I fully charged my battery, checked the fuses they are fine this afternoon i disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and now I have no movement up or down on the top. I also have a "warning" top not latched do not exceed 30 or 35 mph. I didn't have that message before.
Now what?
thanks

You can go to a local autoparts store and see if they would scan your cars for any codes. That is usually a free service, at least in a few stores in the US.
I am currently using this one: iCarsoft LR V4.0

WAGs
1. There is nothing else in the top-well that is preventing the mechanism from FULLY retracting the top? Might need to pause it halfway down and look around.
2. Just the flaps? If only one, or one more than the other, might benefit from a drop of oil on the spring-loaded mechanisms. No motors involved AFAIK.

@cwo4uscgret Here is your clue - Where did you drop the windbreaker? You may have jostled a wire or connector when you removed it. Take a look with a flashlight.
After you scan for codes with your brand new OBD2 scanner as recommended above, also check out the manual to see how everything works - page 1680 onward (thanks as always to @DJS - the 5th member of the A-Team):

So after charging the battery to its fullest and then disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes; now I have nothing WRT the top. I get a message on the instrument panel that says "top not latched; do not exceed 30 mph". Up or down the top doesn't do anything. Checked both fuses - both are ok.
Stopped at my local O'Reilly's the only code retrieved with the scanner is: ADDITIONAL ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) C1109-24 Vehicle
Dynamics Control Switch - Signal Stays HIgh.
So once more to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then if that doesn't work time to use my extended warranty and let Jaguar figure it out.
Thanks for all your advice.

WRT the top windshield latches:
Tried a 'shmear' (light coating) of grease on the latch-hooks? Regular lubrication of many items (door & top latches, for example) is something I do, yearly.
If the mechanism isn't fully actuated the car's warning lights might be triggered, even if you can't lift the top by hand.
