Default High pitch squeal at idle

I have a 2017 F-Type S with almost 2,000 miles on it. I've noticed that there is often a high pitch squealing at or near idle. If I rev the engine or push the flag button it will usually go away, but returns in short order. Obviously I can take the car back to the dealer, but before I do I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Video? Does it do it all the time? Or just on cold/hot starts? After driving? Sitting for awhile?

It does it about half the time. It doesn't seem to matter if the car is cold or warm or if it has been sitting or not. I'll try to capture it on video, but the frequency is so high that I'm betting it won't record.

I use an automotive stethoscope ($20 investment) to track down the exact source of unexpected noises. What you describe sounds like a bad bearing. The snout bearing on the SC is a known issue, at least on the earlier model years.

You're an s2000 owner. Just ignore it like the infamous TCT rattle! jk.

Sounds like a good idea. Do you have a suggestion of which one to buy and where to get it?

I'm hoping that is not the problem.

I took my S2000 for a drive today. It only has just under 9,000 miles on it, so I have yet to experience the timing chain tensioner ticking.

Most auto part stores should have something similar.

Was it humid by any chance? I normally think belts slipping with such symptoms.

It's pretty much always humid here, but I'll check the belt tension to be sure.

Please shut off the engine first (I can tell stories)
It's unlikely you've driven the car enough for the belt to have stretched beyond the spring limit of the idler pulley, but still worth checking. I will indeed get a belt squeal at just above idle for short periods after I pressure wash the paint surfaces and plastic panels in the engine compartment, but that always goes away after 24 hours.

Where is the the squeal coming from...which area?

Could be a plethora of things....air leak, dodgy exhaust valves in the exhaust. Need more info from you.

Definitely from the front of the car, but the location doesn't seem very specific (at least from the drivers seat).
