Default Hook fixture behind the front seats?

I just purchased my 2016 convertible and looking at the attached photo, can anyone tell me what this hook like fixture is for?

That is a clothes hanger so you can hang up a shirt or pants behind the seats since there are no other places to hang something (like most 4-door cars have over the back doors).

We keep a couple windbreakers on the hook behind the passenger seat. You know, just in case it gets chilly on a drive. (convertible)

Our '14 has the umbrella-retaining straps in the boot, as well!

As I’m long in the legs and my old back prefers a more recline i cut mine off. Noticeable difference to those who want to gain more leg room and recline.

On the convertible it's used as a baseball cap holder.

Doesn't the little cubby indented in the back of the driver's seat accommodate for that hook?

It was a few years ago but I believe the indent wasn’t deep enough to accommodate it fully. Any little bit helps when it’s a max. Also I would never be able to use it anyway so no loss.

I used my hooks for hanging my collapsible Windshield Sun Shade when not in use and the other hook for hanging a Charcoal Deodorizer Bag.
