Default How about this noise: when idling, manual transmission R-Dynamic V6 2018

I've noticed that there's a strange noise that sounds like a high pitched churning. It seems to be worse at the cold start of the vehicle and when the car is in neutral/idling. In the videos at the link below, you can hear the noise in all three videos -- in the longest video (just over 30 seconds) you'll hear the churning noise, then I move forward (in gear) and the noise seems to stop (or maybe it's just overpowered by the sound of the engine) but then the noise comes back again when I go back into neutral.

Any thoughts -- is this normal??

I can't pick anything unusual out of the videos, at least not with my current computer audio. I've noticed the engine is mechanically noisy: not full steam engine, but hardly sewing machine.

Does the noise go away with the clutch depressed?

If the throw-out bearing is bad, it would only be noisy when the clutch pedal is depressed. If it makes noise only when in neutral and the pedal is released, then it's probably a bad bearing on the tranny input shaft.
