Default How long do you plan on keeping your F-type?

Until your lease is up?

Until you find something you like better?

Until the wife makes you get rid of it for something more practical?

Never?

The new Z06 is really tempting these days, just wish they would sort out the overheating issues. The 12c's are starting to tempt me as well. The new NSX looks to be let down, the R8 isn't looking much different than the old R8. Maybe I'll just keep the F for a few years...Good time to be a car guy.

I have switched out cars approx. every two years over the past decade (I turned 39 in Dec) and will have my F-type for 3 years this upcoming June. I love the car and with it being paid off, love not having a car payment! I am enjoy adding various mods/personalizing it and making it truly custom, which keeps it feeling new to me.

I have also switched out cars aprox every second year. However this time my plans are a bit different. I bought the F-type and have no downpayments on it. It is not my everyday car, it is and will be in winter storage every winter and it will only be driven some 4-5k every year.

My plan is to keep it as OEM as possible for as long as I enjoy the ownership and taking it out for a ride - which I hope will be for as long as I manage to enter and exit the car

I was originally thinking 3 years but might extend that to 4. Hoping to get a secondhand 570S, perhaps an off lease one in 3 years.

There just isn't a whole lot out there that I would want to trade the R for.

Until the end of my lease, but if the service experience is good I will lease another one then. My favorite car to date!

No clear plans yet, at least 3-4. Maybe more. Will depend on what's available for an upgrade (there aren't that many cars I'd rather have than my F-Type R) and how my future income tracks with projections.

+1, except I'm 43, also in December.

My residual/payoff is good so I'm quite ahead in that department...if I wanted to sell her as is, I'd be coming ahead.

The biggest factor is the health of the engine and transmission as those are the most expensive components of the car. I have been taking oil samples and getting them analysed at a lab to check for metal/contaminant content. If I see anything abnormal in the samples by the end of the lease, I will probably let her go at that time.

Three years then get another base coupe I may trade up to the S model but it seems to be a lot more money for very little extra equipment.

My original plans were to keep it for 2 years. I feel the need to buy something new every year. So we alternatively trade-in my car or my wife's car each year. F-Pace is on its way for this year.

But I'm already in the hunt for the F-Type R Coupe replacement. Like everyone else said, not much to pick from that matches the value of F-Type.

I might just wrap the current one in some shade of blue this year - to keep myself liking the car more.

F-Type SVR - not worth the $70K premium.
I wanted an Aston Martin, but they are yet to catch up on the interior design / appeal for me.
Considered the Z06 but worried about track days.
Considered the Alfa Rome 4C, not impressed with the interiors. And wife does not like the front end.
Porsches are just not value for money in my opinion.
i8 might be a good choice - would love the back seats for longer trips to quickly access snacks!
I wish McLaren brought the 540c over here. Near perfect - the interiors could have been better.
Next serious contender is the AMG GT S or no S. But I hate the cruise control stalk and also want to remove the two chubby boxes around rear license plate.

Considering used:
A Huracan. Drove this for 125 miles in Vegas - lovely package.
And if worst comes to it, I will pick up a California or Lusso/FF. Love the Ferrari interiors in these models.

I still love my FTR, so I plan to keep it for at least 2-4 more years, unless something changes in my life that forces me to do so earlier. (My wife has brought up the fact that it doesn't have a back seat for our new baby, which could turn into a larger issue eventually, particularly if I'm new car shopping.)

I normally swap out my vehicles every 3-4 years, and I've had this car for 9 months now, which means I'm looking at another 2-3 years on the regular schedule. It depends what is out at the time that piques my interest. The warranty / free maintenance period doesn't expire until the end of 5 years, so I might decide to keep it until then if nothing better pops up before then. I will definitely swap it for something new before the end of the factory warranty period either way.

As for my next vehicle... getting another F-Type is still a good possibility. It will likely come down to whether there is something else I like better at the time... and whether or not I need to worry about the back seat.

Keeping it baring any unforeseen circumstances. I love it, I drive it and I plan in 20 years to watch the world catch on that this actually was a very special vehicle.

I plan on never selling my V8S. I always wanted a 2 seat, RWD roadster with a thumping V8. The RWD is a bit of a handful in comparison to the AWD version - and that's why I prefer the RWD.

I will change my other car every 3-4 years.

$130K - definitely looks interesting now.
