How Long Will it Last?
Hi, everyone!
I am into my second year of ownership on a 2015 F-Type R. I bought it with 20,000 miles on it. It is my daily driver, so I just recently hit the 30,000 mile mark.
With every increasing mile, the question comes to mind: how long can I expect this car to last?
I intend to keep it as long as possible & take care of it as best as I can. My plan is to eventually buy a beater, or a secondary vehicle to drive to offset the mileage on the Jag.
I simply can’t imagine my life without this car. It’s been amazing since the day I obtained it. It’s been reliable, it runs great, sounds incredible, and I’ve never received so many compliments on a car in my life.
Is it realistic to keep a car like this running past the 100,000 mile mark? This is my first time owning a Jaguar, and judging by the way the company is heading, it’ll probably be my only.
Thanks for reading!

There is lots of good advice on this forum on preventative things you can do to make the car last longer. The two that immediately spring to mind are keeping all the fluids changed and replacing the seamed plastic coolant pipes.
You'll get over it.
Second on fluid changes and the seamed coolant pipes. We had several vehicles that had 200 and 300,000 miles on them, by always doing regular (5000 mile) oil changes with good oil, not the wallymart special. And the oil changes are EASY to do with Mityvac. Pay attention to spots/drips on the floor. A Chevy Silverado had leaky wheel cylinder replaced under warranty, simply by investigating the 'spot' on the floor. Weird noises, clunks, etc will not get any better by 'wait and see'. I bought my 2017 in 2020 with 26,000 miles on it. Clutch had already been replaced with correct 4th gen unit. Visit this forum and read any thread that may pertain to your year/model. Use a Ctek or other forum member recommended battery MAINTAINER (not trickle charger) Many electrical issues/faults are often due to an aging/undercharged battery. My next purchase will be an OBD reader. Any vehicle has the potential to go south, with a used vehicle, may depend on what the OO did to the car and how it was cared for before you owned it. Hopefully you had the CarFax report for yours.

Just keep on top of the maintenance and your F-Type will reward you.
All cars have wear. All cars will have things replaced over time. At a certain point in time, things fail. Most cars are good until around 120k miles these days before suspension components need replacing, driveline components fail and need replacing, etc.. There is no getting around parts failing over time. With proper maintenance, you shouldn't have "premature failures" like at 50k miles, but eventually things will break down.
I've got 175000 miles on my V6 F-Pace ... I use Liqui Moly SpecialTec 0W-20 (which meets the STJLR.51.5122 spec) and either Mann or WIX filters every 5000 Miles. I do a coolant flush every 3rd oil change.
The 3.0L V6 and the 5.0L V8 are very nearly the same engine.
I think one of the other key things to prolong the life is to DRIVE it ... I let my Porsche sit for about a month and it pitched a fit when I fired it up, so at a minimum I drive each of my cars at least once a week with prodigious use of sport mode once operating temperature is reached.
Also ... disabled auto-start/stop on every vehicle I own.
