Default Just turned over 50k miles

Got my F-Type a year ago. 8000 mile later it still brings a grin to my face every time I see it. It’s been a daily driver with nothing but preventative maintenance, so far. Who says Jaguars are unreliable?

I see you have excellent taste - a salsa red ‘14 V6S. Mine’s in winter storage with 80,500 miles on it.

Mainly people who are living in the past and have no experience of owning a modern Jaguar. But it does make the used market full of bargains!

I love reading about miles being put on cars, largely because I put so few on mine. I've been toying around with an idea for an epic road trip for some time. Covid got in the way, but it needs to happen..

BMW owners, and others who have never owned a Jaguar. A verbatim quote from a BMW owner who admired my F-Type: " I love the ways Jaguars look but I've always heard that they stop in the middle of nowhere for no reason". Verbatim.

That's hilarious considering both the E46 and E9X M3 had rod bearing issues that would destroy the engine and the f80 has crank hub issues. A BMW owner has no room to talk lol.

Well even at your 8000 miles in a year is minimal mileage, it makes me want to drive mine more. I have had it over 2 years and finally put on 6000 miles. It is almost embarrassing since I live in AZ and the weather is great all year round. So many people around here have much, much nicer cars and they drive them on the highways which I just avoid at all costs. There are so many flying rocks in this state it is insane. I had a 911 twin turbo a few years back and was driving it to a taco festival not far from my place. I was literally about the only one within visible distance on the highway and a rock smacked my windshield. I turned around and went back home

My car has 46,750 miles as of this morning. It's my daily driver and I've put on about 4,000 miles since I picked it up in July. When the weather is nice I commute by bicycle, so I would assume I'll put 6000-8000 miles a year. So far it's been pretty great with just a few issues that were taken care of right after purchase. I hope to drive it for a long time.

Did your car ever have the coolant pipes, water pump or SC coupler replaced? If so, at what mileage?

Service history is incomplete. Dealers were unwilling to provide history from previous ownership. So, I don’t know if any of that work had been done by PO. Dealer I bought it from did brakes, battery and misc touch ups and detailing. So far, no coolant consumption, or marbles under the hood noises.

Yes. I’m traveling so don’t have access to paperwork. I had the S/C snout changed due to the rattling coupler. As long as the S/C was off, I asked the dealer to change the suspect cooling parts, which they were familiar with. They indicated the water pump was starting to weep, so they changed that to.

That was fall of 2020, I think, so roughly 65,000 miles?

Frankly, BMW's and Audis suffer from the same rumor-mongering. I've owned tons of BMW's and a handful of Audis...no issues of note...and that includes two E46's and an E90 M3 that were bulletproof. Internet trolls and old rumors at work. But then again, I pop for proper MX and if I buy used, only from a car nutjob owner.

I've got a f type r 15 my. I bought second hand with 43k mikes on the clock.

Had for 3.75 years now and been fully serviced and a daily drive including several trips to the nurburgring and nordschleliefe.

Only issues I have had is a split water pipe under the supercharger at c 72k miles.

So, a f type is definately a daily driver....
